Splitgate 2is finally ready to open its doors for players, but before its official launch, that access is coming in the form of an alpha test. The originalSplitgateis a popular indie title that combines elements ofPortaland the belovedHalofranchise, but the studio behindSplitgateceased production on the game to move to this more advanced sequel. Though fun, the first title had its obvious flaws that the sequel seeks to address with more fluid combat and immersive maps.

Splitgate 2has already had one previewin a closed alpha technical test, but it came with lukewarm results. While the upgrades were noticeable, the excitement around the game suffered due to the uncompetitive bot matches. Hopefully, the alpha can fix this issue and provide a clearer look at this arcade shooter’s potential.

Splitgate 2 Alpha Test Dates

Enter The Fray Soon

Splitgate 2’s alpha will start on February 27 and run till March 2. Though this four-day period is not a ton of time, it should be an invaluable experience for players and developers. It will be the community’s first time playing against other players, which will be a true showcase of what the sequel can do. Meanwhile, it will give the developers a good idea of what needs more work and any technical issues that can be removed early.

Open For All

Thealpha test forSplitgate 2is completely open, so there is no registration needed. It can be accessed by going to the game’s store page on any available platform and downloading the game. The test will run on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, so the vast majority of potential players will be able to access it. The test will also feature crossplay, meaning that wait times shouldn’t be an issue as long as the game has the population it is expected to have.

“Yet Another L”: Civ 7 Disables Crossplay At Launch & Console Players Aren’t Happy About The Reason

Civilization 7’s team at Firaxis is working fast to fix issues addressed by players at launch, but consoles have to wait a bit longer than PC.

Overall, this alpha stands to be a huge chance forSplitgate 2to show what it can beand improve from where it stands. I the quality doesn’t impress, however, it could lead to a harsh reality for the game. The first title was successful for being an indie game, but surviving the current gaming landscape may be even harder now, especially withthe success of hits likeMarvel Rivals. Regardless, anyone interested should hop into theSplitgate 2alpha test on February 27 to try out this chaotic arcade shooter.
