It hasn’t been easy forOlivia to break away from the past, but she’s able to change and adapt to new realities. She’s adventurous enough to pivot - in fact, she may have been too wild for Ethan. Olivia’s not out of control at all, but she does dream of having novel and exciting experiences, despite a handbag stuffed with “grandma” stuff like books and snacks. Olivia rejected those Fundamentalist Christian beliefs. People aren’t wrong to question beliefs and then find their own. Some people are comfortable with the religions they’re raised with. Others prefer to find different paths. Whether is person is religious or an atheist, basic human decency is what separates the good from the bad.
She’s this and that - not just one person all the time. Olivia has plenty of interests, a lot of drive, and little patience with people who try to hold her back. Ethan wasn’t the right man for her. She realized this and got out of the relationship - that shows wisdom and maturity. The best way to stop Ethan’s pain is to remove herself from his life so he can heal. In the ongoing season, she’s trying, but he doesn’t make it easy.

Ethan hasn’t accepted the truth yet - he’s still living in the past. Change is harder for him and that’s another reason why they’re incompatible. She’ll always change, and he’ll mostly stay the same. He needs a partner who wants a simpler life.

The haircut and the teasing of a new boyfriend are signs that Olivia really is in the midst of a revenge makeover. However, these clues may be deceptive. Olivia could hate her in-laws - she might even dislike Ethan sometimes. He wants to reconcile, and she doesn’t - she just wants the divorce papers signed.
