Peter and the Venom symbiote aren’t Venom together, but they can be Spider-Man together.
One of Venom’s most iconic quotes is the declaration “We are Venom!” It has been used as a threat and a battle cry; Eddie Brock often uses to remind himself that he isn’t alone, that he’s more than just a man. It’s something that has been with the character almost since his creation, butPeter Parker is putting his own unique twist on it.Even though Peter is wearing the Venom symbiote, he makes it clear that he doesn’t want to bond with it. This means Peter and the Venom symbiote aren’t Venom together, but they can be Spider-Man together.

In this way, Peter is attempting to offer the Venom symbiote a bit of redemption. The Venom symbiote only views itself as a weapon that destroys everything it encounters, but Peter doesn’t feel the same. That’s why, instead of declaring that they are Venom together, he tries to declare that they are Spider-Man, to bring the Venom symbiote down a more heroic path. Unfortunately, given the absurd threat they face from the Arachniote. Peter might just have to become Venom to survive. Srill, withPeter’s pushing for the Venom symbioteto be more heroic, they might not become Venom together.
As Peter’s urging continues to push the symbiote to be more heroic, it remains entirely possible that, instead of becoming a brand-new Venom, Peter might just become a new version of Spider-Man.

This New Partnership With The Symbiote Allows Peter To Become A New Kind Of Spider-Man
And A New Kind Of Venom
The Venom symbiote has made it clear that it wants to change, and no longer view itself as a weapon of destruction, andeven if Peter agrees to bond with it, it’s entirely possible the Venom symbiote won’t want to take on the name of Venom again. As Peter’s urging continues to push the symbiote to be more heroic, it remains entirely possible that, instead of becoming a brand-newVenom, Peter might just become anew version ofSpider-Manwith the symbiote’s help.
