Warrior’s End Means The Netflix Bump Wasn’t Enough

It Performed Well Nonetheless

Data shared by Netflix revealed thatWarriorperformed solidly, considering the vast number of series available. The first season garnered the most interest, ranking in the 80th spot overall since it was added to the streaming service. It racked up 109,600,000 hours viewed.Warriorseason 2 came in at 180, while the third installment reached the 205th spot.

Warriorwas executive produced by Shannon Lee, the daughter of Bruce Lee.

Andrew Koji as Ah Sahm, Jason Tobin as Young Jun & Olivia Cheng as Ah Toy from HBO’s Warrior (2019)

These numbers, although solid in isolation, are not the breakout numbers seen by shows likeSuits,Young Sheldon, andPrison Break. Even accounting for the fact thatWarriorhas fewer episodes and is thus less likely to accumulate viewing hours, there are a lot of factors that go into reversing a cancelation, whether that’s agreements between different platforms and starting up production. Unfortunately,Warriordid not clear that bar. It serves as a difficult reminder of how hard it is to get a show renewed.

Our Take On Warrior Season 4

It’s A Real Shame

The talent of the largeWarriorcast, which was led by Andrew Koji and also included Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin, Dianne Doan, Kieran Bew, Dean Jagger, Joanna Vanderham, Tom Weston-Jones, and Hoon Lee, among others, gave excellent performances. Although it would have been nice to see what creator Jonathan Topper had in store for a continuation, the series will hopefully always have a place on streaming.

10 Reasons Warrior Season 4 Still Needs To Happen (& Why Netflix Should Save It)

Saved from cancelation once before, Warrior’s three seasons are on Netflix — an indication that the streamer should green-light Warrior season 4.

Though there will be questions after theWarriorseason 3 ending, it doesn’t take away from 30 episodes that unite in telling a thrilling story. It’s just a shame becausethe already solid premise was evolving and reaching a new gear, with the now-confirmed final season boasting widespread audience and critical acclaim and a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes.
