NBC’s newest legal drama expands Aaron Korsh’s franchise on the heels ofSuits' streaming resurgence in 2023. UnlikePearson, which was the universe’s first offshoot,Suits LAdoesn’t have any explicit ties to the original show; it doesn’t even share any core character. Admittedly, this was quite disappointing, considering how beloved theoriginalSuitscastwas. However, Korsh attempts to make up for it by lining up some confirmed cameos, which started with Gabriel Macht’s Harvey Specter inSuits LAepisode 4.
In “Batman Returns,” New York’s former best closer returned, sort of.Macht’s first appearance as Harvey inSuits LAwas primarily through flashback sequenceswhile Ted Black was still going through with his crisis involving some mobsters. As disappointing as the flashbacks were, they were used to establish the long history of friendship between Ted and Harvey, although the former was never even mentioned once in the original legal drama. With that done, there was an expectation that Harvey’s present-time appearance would finally happen inSuits LAepisode 5. Sadly, that isn’t the case.

Suits LA Episode 5 Focuses On Lester’s Case
Harvey is confirmed to appear inSuits LAbeyond the flashbacksin “Batman Returns”. Is That It For Harvey’s Suits LA Role? Gabriel Macht’s Disappointing Cameo In Episode 4 Explained & When He Will Appear Again
Gabriel Macht has returned Harvey Specter in Suits LA episode 4, but his appearance may be disappointing. Luckily, it isn’t the end of his role.
Based on Macht’s cameo, his involvement in the spinoff will be tied to Ted’s convoluted past in New York. However, “You’re On Your Own” mainly tackles Lester’s case. There’s no strong reason forSuits LAto debut present-time Harvey in the outing, other than the fact that he is confirmed for more appearances in the offshoot. Perhaps the outing could have ended with a tease of Ted calling in the favor, but that would have overshadowed the big cliffhanger reveal about Lester, which is, arguably, more important in terms ofSuits LA’s storyand establishing its own identity.

Despite not being a core cast member, Harvey’s cameo is arguably the show’s biggest draw, at least thus far.
Beyond the narrative, it’s also safe to assume that Korsh and NBC want to strategically plot Macht’s appearance in a way that would bring in the most viewers toSuits LA. Despite not being a core cast member, Harvey’s cameo is arguably the show’s biggest draw, at least thus far. Spreading out his role allows the spinoff to keep people’s interest for longer. While it could result in backlash, especially if not done right, it’s an understandable scheme to help get as many eyeballs onSuits LAas possible.

When Will Harvey’s Next Suits LA Appearance Be?
Suits LA Only Has 5 Episodes Left
AfterSuits LAepisode 4’s flashbacks, Macht is still confirmed to appear in 2 more episodes. Because of its mid-season schedule, the spinoff’s freshman year is only confirmed for 10 episodes, which means that there are only 5 outings left. Meanwhile,Rick Hoffman’s one-episode return as Louis Litt will not overlap with any of the confirmed appearances from his former nemesis-turned-friend,leavingSuits LAjust 4 outings to choose from when it comes to deciding when Harvey might finally appear.
…Suits LAcould save Harvey’s 2-episode cameo for the penultimate offering and finale…

Korsh and NBC have a couple options regarding how they want to do it. Firstly, they can further stretch out this interest in Harvey’s role by having him return in episode 6 and episode 8. The problem with this is explaining where he is in-between outings. Secondly,Suits LAcould save Harvey’s 2-episode cameo for the penultimate offering and finale, which sounds good, but could leave people too frustrated, considering the big break between his debut and proper appearance.
