Warning: this article contains spoilers forTransformers OneMore than just an origin story for Optimus Prime and Megatron,Transformers Oneputs considerable focus on other characters as well, specifically Elita-1 and Bumblebee.Transformers Onehas received rave reviewssince its release, with it being considered among thebest films in theTransformersfranchise. A major part of that acclaim naturally stems from its handling of several iconic Transformers characters, some of which being ones that were largely ignored by the films. Elita is a prime example of that.
One of the best parts of the film is finally seeingOptimus Prime’s originon the big screen, bolstered by the excellent voice work of theTransformers Onecast. Optimus is not the only character whose beginning we see, however, as the origins of Elita-1, a newTransformer not seen in the theatrical moviesuntil now, and Bumblebee, are shown right alongside Optimus Prime’s. They are important characters inTransformers Oneas a movie, but also to the lore of the universe, andone aspect of their beginning makes them nearly as important as Optimus Prime himself.

Bumblebee & Elita Get Transformation Cogs That Belonged To Elder Primes Too
They Are Among The Most Powerful Transformers
InTransformers One, Optimus Prime andMegatron are given their transformation cogs by Alpha Trion, who takes them from the dead Elder Primes, which eventually leads to their final confrontation. However, Elita and Bumblebee, despite not being the central duo, are given cogs from the Primes as well. These transformation cogs are very special, and clearly not very common in theTransformersuniverse, asthe only person outside the ancient Elder Primes and the new group of heroes who has one is Sentinel Prime, who is shown to have taken his from Megatronus Prime.
Transformers One’s 10 Best & Funniest Quotes
Transformers One is filled with many great quotes, some of which serve the incredible narrative being told, and some which simply get a laugh.
Despite Megatron and Optimus Prime’s major importance to Cybertron, the fact that both Elita and Bumblebee were given the same power cannot be overlooked. Sentinel Prime explains to Megatron that he took Megatronus' cog because he was the strongest, giving Sentinel that same strength. When Megatron takes the cog from Sentinel’s body, his power is increased, further showing that the strength of a cog depends on where it came from. By this logic, bothBumblebee and Elita are among the strongest Transformers on Cybertronas well, since they too have cogs fromthe most powerful Transformers, the Elder Primes.

Do Bumblebee & Elita’s Special T-Cogs Make Them Primes In Transformers One?
Will We See Elita Prime And Badassatron Prime In The Future?
From what is shown in the movie, simply having the cogs of the Prime isn’t enough to make them Primes themselves. WhileCybertron’s leader, Sentinel Primecalls himself a Prime, Alpha Trion rebukes this notion, saying that he is false, even though he carries Megatronus' cog. Orion Pax himself doesn’t become Optimus Prime right when he gets the cog,it is only after he has proven himself worthy to the Elder Primes and Primus that he is given the title Prime. While the cogs are powerful,Transformers Oneshows that they are not what make someone a Prime.
If Bumblebee and Elita are able to prove themselves in a similar way to Optimus inTransformers One, they may be able to ascend to the rank of Prime themselves

However, that’s not to say that they could never become Primes in potentialTransformers Onesequels. While mostTransformersmedia depicts Optimus as the sole remaining Prime, clearly there can be multiple at one time. If Bumblebee and Elita are able to prove themselves in a similar way to Optimus inTransformers One, they may be able to ascend to the rank of Prime themselves, although it is unclear whether they need the blessing of Primus himself, or if Optimus, as the wielder of the Matrix of Leadership, can bestow that title upon them.
