Holland Is A Popular Fancast For A Scandal Prequel
His Resemblance To Tony Goldwyn Is Uncanny
Scandaldebuted on ABC in April 2012 fromGrey’s Anatomycreator Shonda Rhimes, quickly becoming one of the hottest shows of its era. The political dramarevolved around Kerry Washingtonas the professional fixer Olivia Pope, depicting how capable she is at fixing the problems of others. This is despite her own messy personal life that includes an affair with U.S. President Fitzgerald Grant III, who is played by Tony Goldwyn for all seven seasons and 124 episodes.
OnThreads, Washington reacted tothe viral fancasting of Holland as a young Fitzgerald in aScandalprequel given the strong resemblance between Goldwyn and Holland. In her Threads post, the Emmy winner endorsed Holland for the roleand reacted to the facial similarity between the two actors. Check out the post below:

With a supportingScandalcast that also featured Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Díaz, Jeff Perry, and Bellamy Young, among several others, it’s worth noting that the ABC show included plenty of flashbacks between Olivia and Fitz. A prequel would presumably have to go in a different direction, though that’s a long way from happening.
Our Take On Holland Leading A Scandal Prequel
It’s Fun To Imagine
It is admittedly an idea that would excite a TV executive, given the star power ofHollandandScandal’s existing audience. But the young actor has a full slate of films, and it would be hard to see a prequel to a 2010s show getting included in his to-do list. Still, it’s hard to deny that the resemblance is there. It’s a different role for Holland, potentially lighter than his non-blockbuster fare, which would make it more fun.
