If you feel like you are not getting the vibe of today’sConnectionspuzzle, you can get some hints and tricks to help you do so. Today’s puzzle felt a little difficult but in a more subtle way than usual. I can’t explain why I think that, but maybe I will figure that out as I write this. However, no matter the difficulty, the same hints, tricks, and spoilers will be available to help you figure out what to doto achieve victory.
If you want a puzzle where you have to build words instead of connecting them, theNYT’sSpelling Beepuzzleis the one for you. It is quite different compared to this one, and unlikeConnections, you may make as many mistakes as you want to before the end of the day. There are plenty of options for what words you can build based on the letters given, although the center letter does restrict you a little more. Either way, you should have a great time no matter if you guess one word or all of them.

Today’s Connections Category Hints
JANUARY 30 #599
Today the categories felt a little easier to separate out for me, but I thinkit depends on what order you see the words in. It could be very easy to associate the words differently, and that is what makes this one more subtly difficult. It could be confusing and could cause you to make a few wrong guesses, but with the right hints, this puzzle could be done quickly.
Wordle History: Today’s Answer & All Past Words
Wordle is a simple daily word game that has taken the internet by storm. With only 6 chances to get the right answer, players may need a little help.
If you need more help, there are category namesin the box below, as well as more spoilers.

HALO
VIBE
This one is one that could be difficult, as HALO could be associated with WINGS and HARP in other contexts. If you see that first,it would be easy for it to suck a guess or two from you. Figuring out how to separate them after you have seen it can be quite hard. That’s the biggest problem withConnectionsin my experience because once you make one assumption it is hard to switch to a new one. Sometimes you have to force yourself to attempt to forget, which is why it can help if you leave and return later.
PIZZA
WINGS
This one I saw fairly fast and I actually guessed this first. I wasn’t necessarily thinking about Game Day, but these are allparty foods that are broken out whenever people are gatheringfor a more casual affair. However, with WINGS being in this category, if you saw the other association first, you may have a hard time finding this one. It just depends, and I don’t think the other three words would easily go with anything else. RIGATONI might be the only other word that could go here.

INSIST
LINGER
Hopefully, you reach this category after you have solved at least one of the other ones, as if you still have HARP as an option, this one feels a little easier. I don’t actually know why “with ‘on’” is added as I thinkthese words can all mean the same thing regardless. I also don’t think any other words could be included in this category without that restriction. Sometimes the specifics of a category intrigue me, and it would be interesting to know why or if it’s just because there’s been a similar one in the past.
RIGATONI
ROMEO
This last one would be hard to get, however, I think it’s also the only group of words with any kind of proper capitalization and they don’t fit anywhere else. RIGATONI, as previously mentioned, is really the only one that could go somewhere else,so it makes this one a little easier to guess even without eliminating all other options. I was able to solve this one fairly close to the order of difficulty, so I didn’t come across these earlier. Notably, I didn’t know that Bern was a capital, so I got to learn something new!
