It’s not something I want to discuss at this point.” Theresa then cryptically added thattheir disagreement over where to live wasn’t the only reason they got divorced. “It’s not just the location thing. That’s all I’ll say,” she said.
According to Theresa,Gerry’s idea to settle the location dispute was that he would spend six weeks with her, then she would spend six weeks with him in their respective homes, but she didn’t want that. She was “willing to move” since she wanted to have a home together and not “go back and forth.” At one point, it seemed like they were going to find a place together in Charleston, South Carolina.
During the podcast interview, Theresa also opened up about getting married so soon after their engagement. Apparently,ABC wasn’t willing to air their wedding at a later point in time. “It was now,” according to Theresa, “and we said, ‘If we really are going to get married, we should do it because we’re going to get the wedding of our dreams.'” Both she and Gerry knew that they didn’t want to “waste any time,” especially since there was a “time constraint” on ABC’s offer to host the wedding.
