What We Know About The Fugitive Doctor’s Adventures
Few Adventures Have Fleshed Out The Fugitive Doctor’s Timeline
With the synopsis ofDoctor Who: The Fugitive Doctor: Most Wantedstating that Martin’s Doctor is evading Division’s agents, it does confirm that theseries will be set after the events depicted in season 13’s “Once, Upon Time”, “Coda-The Final Act” andJodie Houser’s “Origins” miniseries, the former two covering her assignments from Division and the latter her defection. What is unclear, however, is whether the series will be set before her television debut. While companion Lee Clayton (Neil Stuke) isn’t included, it could be either set before she meets him or after his death in “Fugitive of the Judoon.”
“Origins” established the Time Lord’s fondness for Earth, as the First Doctor references his past incarnation’s thoughts on the planet in the final issue.
Our Take On The Fugitive Doctor’s Encounter With The Daleks
The Fugitive Doctor Has Never Faced Daleks In Any Medium.
What will stand out to longtimeDoctor Whoaudiences is the presence of the Daleks. Despite crossing paths with Judoon and the Weeping Angels, the incarnation has never faced the Kaled mutations. For the First Doctor,“The Daleks” isthe first time the Time Lord facedthe Daleks, despite later incarnations being present earlier in their history. The new audio drama seemingly predates this encounter, though she ultimately would use these memories.
The original Dalek travel machine models seen in their debut story were not built for use outside the Dalek City on Skaro due to their reliance on static electricity to power them, something later models would address as they left the planet.
It is unclear when in their timeline this encounter occurs, as the model isn’t the original used in “The Daleks” and “The Daleks Invasion of Earth.” Instead, it resembles the travel machines introduced in 1965’s “The Chase.” Still early in their expansion efforts and using Hoverbouts to fly as opposed to their later in-built flight technology, the design was seen as the species first set out to establish their foothold in the universe beyond Skaro. While the Fugitive Doctor may not remember her encounter with them, Martin’sDoctor Whoaudio drama may establish an earlier meeting between the Time Lord and her greater foes.
