MGK, better known as “Machine Gun Kelly”, or even Colson Baker, is a commercially acclaimed rapper and singer who’s also successfully dabbled in acting, including appearing in the Netflix hit,Bird Box. Machine Gun Kelly began his professional music career in the early 2010s with his debut album,Lace Up, released on July 26, 2025. This rock/rap hybrid album ended up reaching number 2 on the USBillboard200 R&B/HipHop Album Chart, andhe followed up the success with five more albums, earning a Grammy nomination in 2023 forMainstream Sellout.
Right as his music career began taking off, MGK also started appearing in acting roles. His first major performance came in the 2018horror movieBird Boxwhere he plays Felix, one of the lucky people to make it off the chaotic streets at the beginning of the film and into the house with Malorie (Sandra Bullock). When Malorie runs into a house to escapethe creatures in the street inBird Box, she’s joined by six other survivors. The group realizes they can avoid the monsters by blindfolding themselves and covering the windows with blankets. At first, everyone works together, but as they find themselves increasingly without a solution to being trapped, Felix and his girlfriend Lucy decide to fend for themselves and steal the home’s one car and flee, and it’s the last anyone sees of the characters. When asked about where Felix went, director Susanne Bier said (viaPeople),
“I think [the grocery store] was their plan, but we don’t know! I think that that’s where they wanna go, but I actually think it’s quite exciting that we don’t know exactly where they went.”
Just before Felix and Lucy stole the car, the group used it to drive to the grocery store to restock, and they saw that the store was basically untouched. It makes sense that Felix would think going back there would be his best chance at survival. Bier’s comment also seemed to imply that she thinks that not knowing exactly where Felix ended up means he could very well be anywhere, meaningit’s possible that MGK could turn up in aBird Boxsequel.

A spin-off sequel toBird Box, titledBird Box Barcelonapremiered on Netflix in July 2023. This sequel actually occurs concurrently with the events happening inBird Box, with the events unfolding in Spain, so MGK as Felix could never have appeared in this movie. However,talks ofBird Box 3have frequently floated around, and it could be the perfect opportunity to reintroduce Felix, and Lucy if she survived too. Felix could feel some guilt about leaving the others behind andthis next film could see him trying to earn redemption in the post-apocalyptic world.

Bird Boxturned out to be something of a tipping point for MGK’s acting career. Previously, he had mostly cameoed as himself in TV shows, and still does in things likeJackass Forever,Bupkiss, andDave.
