The Boysseason 5 gets a new tease as Vought addresses A-Train’s (Jessie T. Usher) disappearance. Created by Eric Kripke, the hit Prime Video superhero parody show premiered in 2019. A-Train has been a key part of the series since season 1, butThe Boysseason 4takes his story in a new direction as he becomes a mole for MM (Laz Alonso) and his team. When he’s discovered, A-Train gets his family out of town and away from Homelander (Antony Starr), setting up an intense story in season 5, which will be the show’s last.

TheVought Internationalaccount on X, formerly Twitter, now addresses A-Train going AWOL, claiming that he’s been “deployed overseas.” Check out the account’s post below:

Will A-Train Have A Tragic End In The Boys Season 5?

Jessie T. Usher’s Character Is Poised For A Major Redemption

Generally speaking,The Boys' charactersaren’t presented as particularly redeemable, and even Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) is moving further toward darkness than ever before. A-Train is first introduced to audiences when he runs through (and disintegrates) Hughie’s girlfriend, and that’s far from his only bad deed in season 1.Slowly, though, the show has been establishing A-Train’s humanity and creating a divide between him and Homelander, and he ultimately becomes key to The Boys' mission in season 4.

Another character who was poised for a potential redemption arc was The Deep (Chace Crawford), who became a more sympathetic figure in seasons 2 and 3. Season 4, however, sees him double down on his support for Vought and Homelander, and he’s now more dangerous than ever.

There’s a key moment inThe Boysseason 4 when A-Train rushes MM to the hospital. A child witnesses A-Train’s good deed and looks on in wonder, andit’s clear in this moment that something changes within Usher’s character. The Boysseason 5certainly looks to be teeing A-Train up for a redemption arc, but that might also mean that death is on the horizon for the former member of The Seven.

This A-Train Scene Marks A Surprising First In The Boys After 5 Years & 30 Episodes

Jessie T Usher’s The Boys character finds himself in new surroundings in “Dirty Business,” but the location won’t be unfamiliar to the creative team.

While A-Train may be hiding out with his family for now, he’ll surely be a part of whatever is to come, and he now has a very big target on his back. Homelander was particularly ruthless in season 4, and he’ll be wanting to kill A-Train for betraying him. While A-Train may make up for some of his past misdeeds, the tragic nature of many ofThe Boys' character arcs suggest he may lose his life in the process.
