Terrifier 3is the latest film in a franchise that has quickly become one of the new faces of the slasher horror genre, with plenty of truly grotesque scenes reminiscent of classic slasher films. As itbreaks box office records,Terrifier 3also goes much farther than many slasher films would even attempt, showing some truly off-putting scenarios that made evenArt the Clown’s actor sick on set, and it allends with a cliffhanger forTerrifier 4.

AsTerrifier 3continues to expand the franchise and what kind of horror is present, one scene in particular has gained a lot of attention for pushing the limits of how disturbing these films can be. The scene in question isTerrifier 3’s glass shard scene, which not only shows off another brutal murder, but alsoadds a new, so far unexplored aspect of the films, which futureTerrifiermovies will definitely continue to utilize if they wish to continue to up the ante with the franchise.

Vicky Was Turned On By Art’s Murders In Terrifier 3’s Glass Shard Scene

She Was Enjoying Herself Even More Than Art

The scene in question takes place after Art the Clown and Victoria, now possessed by the Little Pale Girl, are woken up from a five-year slumber by a pair of demolition workers who are just unlucky enough to stumble across them in an abandoned house. Victoria kills the first one with a glass shard she had taken before she went dormant, and Art begins to maim and torture the other one. While she watches this,Victoria begins to masturbate using that same glass shard, making one of thebloodiest scenes in theTerrifiermoviesthat much more disturbing.

Seeing a character turned on in such a way and then deciding to use a sharp shard of glass to get herself off is a disturbing enough experience to warrant being one of the franchise’s most horrifying moments.

Art the clown in Terrifier 3 and Terrifier are behind Victoria from Terrifier 3

The scene is not only horrifying for its brutal depiction of violence, but obviously for the sexual pleasure experienced by Victoria during the scene. TheTerrifierfranchise as a whole has plenty of stomach-churning moments, likeTerrifier 2’s bedroom scene, butthe gross nature of those are more because of the gore and violence itself. Seeing a character turned on in such a way and then deciding to use a sharp shard of glass to get herself off is a disturbing enough experience to warrant being one of the franchise’s most horrifying moments.

The horror genre as a whole has always been closely tied to sex and sexuality, from the STD metaphor ofIt Followsto the classic chastity messages of movies like the originalFriday the 13th.TheTerrifierfilms are no exception, with plenty of depictions of sex and nudity, including oneexceptionally gory scene inTerrifier 3that included characters having sex. However, the glass shard scene differs from the rest of the franchise, aspreviously, there was no direct connection between the killings and sexual pleasure, just the joy and glee with which Art commits these murders.

Terrifier 3 Subtly Teased The New Holiday Terrifier 4 Should Be Set On

After the horror franchise included holidays like Halloween and Christmas, Terrifier 4 could take on a brand new holiday that’s teased in Terrifier 3.

Introducing this aspect to the films at this point in the franchise is a great way to keep it feeling fresh, despite how horrifying it is to witness. Plenty of horror series fall prey to feeling the same after the first few outings, and adding this new layer to the characters ensures that the later movies don’t feel like they’re just rehashing things that already happened.Terrifier 3may be a gruesome experience, but it keeps the franchise feeling fresh, which will be integral to the series' success in the long run.
