Warning: Contains SPOILERS for T.A.M.A. #1!Imagine if all the abandoned digitalTamagotchipets wanted vengeance against their human owners, and had the means to enact said vengeance à laFive Nights at Freddy’s. Well, lucky for horror fans, they don’t have to, because an all-new series calledT.A.M.A.is doing it for them. This upcoming comic features murderous virtual creatures breaking into the physical world, and only one child has the power to stop them.
Shared byAIPT Comics, PANICK Entertainment released a first-look at one of the publisher’s first-ever comic book titles,T.A.M.A.#1 by Adam Schlagman, Doug Pasko, and Daniel HDR. Included in this first-look was a detailed description of the six-issue miniseries, as well as gruesome artwork that proves why these digital monsters are so utterly terrifying.

Within this horrific world, there exists a virtual pet platform called Companimals. When one downloads this game onto their device, their Companimal automatically integrates with every trace of one’s virtual footprint. Every app, social media platform, and even other games can be infiltrated by their Companimal, making them a true virtual pet that’s literally everywhere they are. Where that becomes a major issue, however, is when the Companimals transcend the virtual world and break into the physical one, and when they do, they’re completely invisible to the naked eye.
The Story of T.A.M.A. is Described as “Child’s Play” Meets “Pokémon”
As revealed in PANICK Entertainment’s release, the story ofT.A.M.A.begins with a 14-year-old boy named Kit, whose life has been filled with trauma and tragedy. Kit’s father recently died, his mother neglects him (throwing herself into work to deal with her own trauma), and he gets picked on at school. So, Kit downloads Companimals to have his own virtual pet to help him through these hard times - and his pet’s name is TAMA.
Kit loves TAMA, and TAMA loves Kit in return. Unfortunately, that love quickly sours. TAMA sees how Kit is bullied and neglected, so it does what it can to help him in the most violent and murderous ways imaginable. At first, Kit refuses to believe that TAMA has any impact on the physical world, but after using an augmented reality (AR) device (similar toPokémon Go), Kit sees for himself that his ‘best friend’ is very much alive, and incredibly dangerous (just likeChucky inChild’s Play).

Why the Companimals in T.A.M.A. are So Murderously Angry at Humans
The Companimals System is Actually ‘Defunct’ when Kit Downloads TAMA
As shown in the preview artwork shared by AIPT Comics, a horde of Companimals are murdering everyone inside an office, the same people who developed Companimals. Since Kit downloads the game after it becomes defunct, it’s safe to assume that the company was shut down following this massacre. But, why were the Companimals murderous to begin with? Well, that goes back to the core question of this series: what if abandoned digital pets wanted vengeance? It seems the AI powering the Companimals was derived from past virtual pet systems (likeTamagotchi), and they remember how poorly humans treated them.

Five Nights At Freddy’s is filled with tons of scary animatronic monsters, but which ten get the honor of being the scariest in the franchise?
It seemsT.A.M.A.will encapsulate the collective rage of every forgotten and abandonedTamagotchi, twisting them into terrifying creatures akin to the animatronics inFive Nights at Freddy’s- and horror fans should be very excited to see the carnage unfold.
