Joule is a highly mobile burst fighter that can single-handedly wipe entire teams inSupervive. Her kit revolves around a combination of her passive, Static Charge, and her shift ability, Surge. Whenever Joule hits an enemy with an ability, she generates a stack of Static on them. At four stacks, when Joule hits an enemy with Surge, they’ll take a massively increased amount of damage and reset the ability’s cooldown.

If an enemy has a fully stacked passive, look to engage with Surge. If the enemy is hit, you can either keep tempo by looking for another Surge reset or use it to escape back to safety.

Joule’s right click, Lightning Spear, is a chargeable ability that knocks enemies back and stuns them on wall collisions. In some niche scenarios, such as fighting againstHudson inSupervive, the damage can be helpful in securing his defeat, as his lower move speed makes it significantly harder to dodge. In general, though, cooldown reduction upgrades are better, as most of Joule’s damage is centered around Surge.

Dual Weapons Only
As a fighter, choosing damage as Joule’s initial build is really the only option. For specific items,the Turbo Booster is the most consistently powerful item on Joule, as its movement speed bonus after a movement ability will be triggered constantly. It can help escape fights or keep the pressure on after using Surge. Rampage is a solid option for pure damage but requires some setup by landing abilities to build AP stacks. Amplifier is another good item that creates consistent gameplay with its cooldown-reducing effect but encourages sticking to Volt and Surge to build its CD stacks.
