She knows the ins and outs of the company, so much so that her loyalty was never even questioned prior to her meeting with Helena Eagan early in season 2. Cobel doesn’t just know about Lumon’s plans with severance, butshe also knows the truth about Cold Harbor and what Lumon has secretly been doing with Gemma.

Given how long she’s been working for the company and her history with Jame Eagan, the Wintertide Fellowship, and the creation ofSeverance’s titular procedure, it’s possible that Cobel knows even more about the reality of the company’s inner workings than Jame’s daughter Helena Eagan. If there’s one way for Mark and Devon to really expose Lumon, free Gemma, and retaliate against their crimes against humanity on the testing floor and elsewhere all around the world, it’s touse Cobel’s knowledge, power, and anger at Lumon’s betrayal to their advantage.

One strong piece of ammunition that Cobel has against the Eagans is the truth about the invention of severance. However, Jame told her that if she ever tried to take credit for it, she would be banished.
