Resident Alienseason 4 will continue to use Alan Tudyk in creative new ways, with the sci-fi dramedy having already asked a great deal of its leading man. As the central figure inResident Alien’s castsince the show began in 2021,Alan Tudyk’s Harry Vanderspeiglehas turned from villain to hero throughout three seasons. Thankfully,Resident Alienseason 4’s confirmationmeansHarry’s fascinating arc will continue. Plus, viewers will be treated once more to Tudyk’s eclectic acting style.
Although it initially seemed as thoughResident Alienseason 3’s endingwould leave several loose ends untied, the show’s switch from Syfy to USA Network made sure that wouldn’t happen. When the story resumes,Harry will likely be sidelinedas a result of the most recent finale’s events. However, logic dictates Tudyk will still be heavily involved in front of the camera, even if he isn’t playing Harry at first.

Resident Alien Season 4 Will Mean Alan Tudyk Has Played At Least 2 Characters In Every Season
Tudyk plays other characters beyond various iterations of Harry
Since the show’s inception, Tudyk hasn’t just been limited to playingResident Alien’s eccentric protagonist. Instead, showrunner Chris Sheridan has required the actor to play more than one character in each season so far. With the introduction of the Mandtid in the season 3 finale, “Homecoming,” that trend will continue into the upcoming run of episodes. So,Resident Alienseason 4 will thankfully keep this streak alive, as Tudyk has already been established as one of the actors to play the insectoid.
Alan Tudyk is also directingResident Alienseason 4, episode 1.
Although playing the show’s main character has been Tudyk’s primary responsibility, he hasn’t shied away from the challenges of stepping into other roles. Of course, they all relate to him in some way.His secondary role inResident Alienseason 1 is as the original Harry, who was an ordinary (if not thoroughly unpleasant) human. He has only appeared in flashbacks and hallucinations but has been played by Tudyk every time due to the fact his alien persona took Dr. Vanderspeigle’s form after killing him.
Tudyk reprised the role of both Harrys inResident Alienseason 2, which marked the start of his casting trend within the show. Plus, he also played Golaith’s alien form - a future version of the sci-fi tale’s main character who traveled back in time to deliver a message. InResident Alienseason 2, Tudyk obviously played alien Harry again, but his human character didn’t appear. Regardless, he still briefly played Bridget, with the human/alien hybrid baby impersonating his father to embarrass him in an act of revenge. Tudyk also played the Mantid while pretending to be Harry.

Resident Alien Season 4’s Villain Is Already Shared By 2 Actors
Clancy Brown voices the Mantid in his alien form
WhenResident Alienseason 4 brings back the Mantid, it would make sense for him to still be played in his human form by Alan Tudyk. Even though his cover was blown byMax’s alien-spotting gene, he needs to blend in. That being said, he’ll inevitably revert to his true form. When this happens, voice acting legendClancy Brown will likely return to voice the Mantidas he did in “Homecoming.” That being said, it probably won’t be a dual role for long, asResident Alienis sure to oust the Mantid or at least change his human appearance.
