This means Reacher is free and single when he reconnects with fellow special investigator, Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan), in season 2. Despite the similarities, there is also a lot that sets Roscoe apart. Dixon and Duffy both have much higher profiles, especially in their chosen and assigned cases. Though the counterfeiting ring in season 1 is substantial, the stakes are a lot more rooted in personal motives.Reacher wants to avenge the murder of his brother and Roscoe wants to root out the corruption at the heart of her hometown, the place her own family helped to build. As a result, she is more grounded and relatable.

As an honest, small-town cop, Roscoe has a down-to-earth, homespun charm, the kind of charm that represents everything that brought Reacher to the town in the first place. This is missing from the still somewhat enigmatic Dixon and the wide-reaching government agent that is Duffy. That’s part of the reason Roscoe is the only character Reacher calls by their first name, and why fans still hope forRoscoe to return inReacherseason 3or later down the line. Whatever the case,Reacherseason 3’s new romance could still manage to be compelling.
