There are many things to like aboutPokémon TCG Pocket, but there is one feature that the game feels like it’s missing. While it looks like the game is going to get a few social features it didn’t have before, such as trading, one potential addition that hasn’t been announced or teased would be nice to have. No matter what, more interaction with friends, which is usually a staple of Pokémon games throughout the franchise, would make the game that much more fun.

With new features liketrades coming soon toPokémon TCG Pocket, having other ways to play the game socially is almost always a good thing. While adding anything new runs the risk of creating problems, things can always be modified or changed to make it more friendly. Pokémon as a whole can be a very welcoming community given the chance, and this missing feature could make it friendlier even on the app.

Social Reactions Are The Missing Piece In Pokémon TCG Pocket

Communication Is Key

As Redditorgooglymoogly404stated,Pokémon TCG Pocketplayersshould be able to react to friends’ pulls when they see them. Sometimes seeing what other players got from packs is half the fun, both in the tabletop game and on the app. There is a lot to be said for showing off fun cards and seeing what friends think about it, butPokémon TCG Pocketplayers won’t always have the opportunity to do so in real life.

Being able to use a range of social reactions like emojis in a similar manner to social media platforms like Instagram or Discord would add a nice social element that opens up communication with other players without being rude or crass. It could also be used to add some exciting unlocks to the game,as you could unlock new reactions like a Pikachu thumbs-up or a Charizard on-fire reaction. It would add a fun element to an already fun game, but it could be used in more than just reacting toWonder Pack picks.

Reactions Would Be Great In Pokémon TCG Pocket Battles

Pulls Aren’t The Only Application

In game, you should be able to react to your opponent as well in abattle inPokémon TCG Player. A player could send a thumbs-up for an opponent’s particularly fancy card, or an oh-no if things aren’t looking too good for you. It’s something that can play out across the table from an opponent with the physical TCG, andit would add another layer of reality to the simulated game, particularly against other players.

The more that this game can simulate the experience of playing across the table with friends, the better. And, if done with carefully-chosen emojis or reaction stickers, there would be no need to worry about the communication being inappropriate for a family-friendly Nintendo product. IfMario Partycan do it,Pokémon TCG Pocketshould be able to add this missing social feature as well.
