What Percy Jackson & The Olympians' Season 3 Renewal Means
Disney+ Has Rarely Greenlit Future Seasons Prior To Premieres
Since launching in Fall 2019, Disney+ has been a premier destination for franchise-based serialized content, hosting expansion projects set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe andthe greaterStar Warsgalaxy. Most of those shows, like the Emmy Award-winningWandaVisionand the Saturn Award-winningObi-Wan Kenobi, existed as limited series, whileDaredevil: Born AgainandAndorwere anticipated as multi-season endeavors from their inceptions.
Percy Jackson and the Olympiansnow exists in a rare territory, where it is receiving a renewal long before its next batch of episodes arrives on the streaming service. This move speaks to the project’s success, which accumulated three billion streaming minutes in 2024, making it Disney+’s most-watched show of the year.Percy Jackson’s accolades continued into the awards circuit, garnering 16 nominations at the Children’s and Family Emmy Awards, which takes place on March 15.

GivenPercy Jacksonis a live-action series not part of one of their ongoing cinematic universes, and thus requires more resources to produce, Disney+’s confidence in renewing the show further is another indication of its success.
The confirmedPercy Jacksonseason 3 now also puts the franchise into uncharted territory, asRiordan’sThe Titan’s Cursehas yet to exist in a medium beyond the page. The third book in the seriescontinues Percy’s adventures at Camp Half-Blood and beyond while simultaneously expanding the ensemble, adding such fan-favorites as Nico di Angelo, Bianca di Angelo, Atlas, the Hunters of Artemis, Apollo, Zoe Nightshade, and more into the mix.
Our Take On Percy Jackson’s Season 3 Renewal
Don’t Expect To Wait Another Two Years For More Demigods And Monsters
Beyond Disney+’s confidence in thePercy Jacksonfranchise, the biggest takeaway from this renewal comes in the production realm. Disney+ previously greenlitseason 2 in February 2024, leading it to then go into production that June. If the renewal-to-filming pipeline follows that same trajectory, cameras onPercy Jacksonseason 3 could begin rolling before the end of this year.
Percy Jackson And The Olympians Season 2: Confirmation, Cast, Story & Everything We Know
Disney+’s take on Percy Jackson and The Olympians already thrilled during its first season, and now it has been renewed for season 2.
Percy Jackson and the Olympianshas had a fairly strong production-to-premiere timeline, too, with both seasons 1 and 2 wrapping in February and subsequently premiering on Disney+ in December 2023 and 2025, respectively. Having the jumpstart on season 3 at this present day would put it in the position to stream in 2026, pushing it closer to an annual release, which would then set the stage forThe Battle of the LabyrinthandThe Last Olympianto follow suit.
