First premiering in July 2009,Pawn Starswas an instant hit, chronicling the day-to-day activities of the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, a Las Vegas shop operated by the Harrison family since 1989. Patriarch Richard “Old Man” Harrison was the original owner, eventually passing it down toPawn Starspseudo-lead Rick Harrison, his son. Rick and his son Corey “Big Hoss”, along with Corey’s friend Austin “Chumlee” Russell, now operate the shop.

Jake Harrison is Rick’s third son and the only child Rick had with his second wife, Tracy Harrison. Rick has two older half-brothers, Corey and Adam, the latter of whom never appeared onPawn Stars, instead choosing to become a plumber (viaHuffPost). Sadly, Adam passed away in 2024 after a suspected drug overdose (viaAP). Jake debuted onPawn Starsin season 18, with his father making anInstagrampost celebrating his first moments on the show and welcoming him to thePawn Starsfamily.
Like anyone who is new to the show,Jake was given some tough tasks in his first appearance, a sort ofPawn Starsinitiation ceremony. One of these tasks included having to differentiate between a nearly identical real and fake Rolex. A pawnbroker at heart, Jake successfully identified the original and the forgery. However, Jake stopped appearing regularly after his season 18 episode. Jake nor Rick have explained why Jake stopped appearing on the show, but with numerous episodes to film every year, the demands of a hectic TV schedule might have just been too much.
