Summary
Warning: Contains spoilers for Oshi no Ko’s final arc. After years of build-up to Aqua’s confrontation with Hikaru Kamiki,Oshi no Koresolved the conflict rather anticlimactically. Aqua revealed that Ai kept Kamiki away from her and their children because she was afraid it would be too big a burden on him, and with Kamiki understanding that Ai really did love him, he had a change of heart and decided to atone for his crimes.
While the conflict with Kamiki might have been resolved,Oshi no Ko’s story isn’t yet finished.Oshi no Kowas quick to confirm that there’s still one person left to deal with before Ai is properly avenged, and surprisingly,Oshi no Ko’s final villain is portrayed as a bigger threat than Kamiki andthe true mastermind behind Ai’s murder:Nino.

Unfortunately, the pacing of the series, among other factors, doesn’t allow that to be a satisfying twist, so it’s hard to imagine most fans accepting it asOshi no Ko’s final arcmoves forward.
Oshi No Ko’s True Villain Explained
Nino Is The Mastermind Behind Ai’s Death
The final, and true, villain of theOshi no KomangaisFuyuko Niino i.e. Nino, a former member of B-Komachi who was obsessed with Ai. Nino was an accomplice of Kamiki’s, and after Kamiki was dealt with,Oshi no Koheavily implied that Nino was the one truly responsible for Ai and Goro’s murders, with her possibly pushing Ryosuke Kaihara into killing them instead of scaring them. Add in chapter #158 ending withNino stabbing Rubywhen Kamiki wanted them to turn themselves in, and it’s clear that Nino is at the heart ofOshi no Ko’s final conflict.
Why Oshi No Ko’s True Villain Is Disappointing
Oshi No Ko’s Big Twist Might Ruin The Final Arc
Nino is the final villain ofOshi no Ko, butthat twist has already been met with criticism from fans due to its execution. While Nino had a few cameos in the series, she wasn’t properly introduced until late into the penultimate arc, and the only way to get any insight into her character before now was through a web story released exclusively in Japan. In short,Nino has had far less focus as a villain and a general character inOshi no Kothan Kamiki, and that makes it hard to get invested in her as the villain.
Everything surrounding the revenge plot was centered around the ensuing confrontation between Aqua and Kamiki, and because of that, Nino being the final villain ofOshi no Kohas far less emotional weight to it than what was present with Kamiki. Her conflict with Ai and, by extension, Aqua and Ruby, is far less personal and says far less about Ai, as a person. Because of all this, it’s hard to feel invested in Nino asOshi no Ko’s true villain, but hopefully, the series will do something to properly sell her as such within its final chapters.
