This narrative follows Dick as he grapples with the mystery of a woman in red who appears to leap off a bridge only to vanish before hitting the water.

Nightwing 116 (Redondo) main Cover-1

Commandeering a human body, Boston Brand tracks down Dick Grayson and presents the Bludhaven-based hero with a golden coin. However, Dick soon discovers that this isn’t an ordinary coin, as he is still able to see Deadman after he leaves his human host—something that should be impossible consideringDeadman is a ghost. Boston explains that the coin Dick now possesses was once used by people to pay the ferryman to travel between the realms of the living and the dead.As long as the coin remains on Nightwing’s person, he will be able to see and hear Deadman.

However, the iconicSixth Senseline, “I see dead people,” may not completely apply to Nightwing. At this moment, it’s unclear if Dick can see all dead people or just Boston.Despite nothing being confirmed, it is more than likely that Nightwing now possesses the ability to see all dead people since it wouldn’t make much sense for this ancient coin to only be tuned into Deadman’s ghostliness. It will be interesting to see where Seeley takes this new ability and what other ghosts Dick may interact with—some of which may even be his parents, considering their teased connection to the mystery.
