NBC’s reboot ofNight Courthas proven to be another big hit for the network, but will the legal comedy score a season 4 renewal? A continuation of the beloved sitcom that ran from 1984 until 1992, the newNight Courtfollows optimistic Judge Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch), the daughter of the original series' Harry Stone, as she presides over the Manhattan Criminal Court’s night shift. While tackling some of the goofiest cases that the Big Apple has to offer, Abby must wrangle her cantankerous staff that includes a humorous bailiff, a high maintenance prosecutor, and a gruff defense attorney.

Though critics have largely looked down onNight Court(and the sitcom genre in general), the familiar and nostalgic series has managed to become an ongoing fixture in NBC’s shifting lineup. Season 2 and 3 have begun introducing new wrinkles in the characters, and though it largely followsthe classic sitcomformula of low-stake humor with very little carry over from episode to episode,Night Courthas nevertheless built momentum. This bodes well for the show’s future, as each successive season seems to beget another with more certainty each year. However, NBC hasn’t announced season 4 ofNight Courtyet.

Night Court Season 4 Story Details

Keeping the traditional sitcom formula alive,Night Courtseason 4’s plot is difficult to predict because it likely won’t have a very strong storyline at all. Relying instead on weekly episodic stories,it’s impossible to guess what will happen in the fourth season’s individual episodes. While the ending of season 3 will probably throw an interesting wrinkle into the mix, there’s very little that connects the show from episode to episode. As such, the only thing that viewers should expect is the unexpected, as Judge Stone and company deal with whatever silly shenanigans wind up in her courtroom.
