A new Special Art Rare card fromPokémon TCG’sSupercharged Breakerexpansion is not only gorgeous, but it could finally dethrone a Worlds-winning card that has long been used by competitive players.Supercharged Breakeris a new upcoming set for theTrading Card Game, though it will be released exclusively in Japan in October. However, the cards in the set will be combined with the JapaneseParadise Dragonaset for therelease ofPokémon TCG: Surging Sparksin international markets in November. This will allow players and collectors to gather cards from both these card sets and use them.

Surging Sparksis an expansion themed around the Terarium from theIndigo DiskDLC for the Generation 9 titles,Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, though it does feature varied cards that escape the general theme. Many of the upcoming cards are already known since they have been featured inParadise Dragona, though many more are still being presented leading up to the release ofSupercharged Breaker. This includes severalmust-have cards inPokémon TCG: Supercharged Breaker, like Hydreigon ex. Now, a beautiful new Pokémon card has been revealed, and it may end a year-long reign on the competitive landscape.

Supercharged Breaker’s Ceruledge Card Has Gorgeous Artwork

The Special Art Rare Version Of The Card Highlights The Fire-Type Pokémon

Four new cards from theSupercharged Breakerexpansion have been officially revealed, as seen onPokébeach. One of them is a Charcadet, while the other three are Charcadet’s evolutions: one of the cards is Armarouge, while the other two portray Ceruledge. The Special Art Rare version of Ceruledge’s Pokémon card stands out with its exquisite illustration of the Fire- and Ghost-type creature. Ceruledge stands still in front of a delicately colorful background, highlighting its flames and body while emanating a ghastly feeling in the newPokémon TCGcard. Aside from its beauty, the Ceruledge card also has gameplay value.

Why Ceruledge May Dethrone Lugia VSTAR

The New Card Counters Special Energy Cards

The main gameplay value of the new Ceruledge card fromSupercharged Breakerlies in its first attack, called Blaze Curse. For the cost of a single Colorless Energy, Ceruledge forces the opponent to discard all Special Energy cards from each of their Pokémon. This counters the Colorless Lugia VSTAR meta deck. The 2023 Worlds-winning deck used by Gabriel Fernandez, which is even being sold atPokémon Center, does not have Basic Energy cards.

This means that, if players are running a Ceruledge fromPokémon TCG: Supercharged Breakeragainst this Lugia deck, they can render the entire deck useless.

Pokémon’s Latios and Latias fly side by side.

Pokémon TCG: Surging Sparks' New Latios & Latias Cards May Be Worth A Fortune

A new Latios and a Latias ex cards have been revealed for Pokémon TCG: Surging Sparks, and their shared artwork may make them valuable.

Ceruledge’s Blaze Curse can forcibly make the opponent discard all of the Energy cards in playbecause there are no Basic Energy cards. This would put them back immensely, and it is a fairly annoying counter for the entire essence of the Colorless Lugia VSTAR deck. Against decks that rely more on Basic Energy, Ceruledge should not cause that much harm to the opponent’s strategy. Nevertheless, this new card fromPokémon TCG: Supercharged Breakeris but one of the many new strong cards that may change the current meta, possibly for the better.
