The first season ofNetflix’s great live-action adaptation ofOne Pieceintroduced new viewers who had yet to watch the anime or read the manga to the first five members of the Straw Hat crew – Zoro (Mackenyu), Nami (Emily Rudd), Usopp (Jacob Romero), and Sanji (Taz Skylar) – as well as their captain and the lead character ofOne Piece,Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy). The first season ended strong, but there is still so much more ofOne Pieceto come, as it is one of the longest-running anime of all time.

The Straw Hat crew is just getting started, as there are several other members missing from the series so far. It’s been confirmed that the cutest member of the Straw Hats crew will make his debut in Season 2, and that is none other than Dr. Tony Tony Chopper. Nico Robin (Lera Abova)is also set to make her debut in theOne Piecelive-action, but there are even more Straw Hats to come if the show continues after its turn in Alabasta, including one ofthe most under-rated, super Straw Hats, Franky.

Netflix One Piece Season 2 Will Introduce Two More Fan Favorites

Before getting to Franky, Netflix’s live-action will first need to introduce Chopper and Robin, who have already been announced for the live-actionOne Pieceadaptation. Given what has been revealed so far aboutOne PieceSeason 2’s story, this season will see Chopper meet the crew. Presumably, the season will get through the events of Drum Island given the pacing of the live-action series, meaning Chopper may join the Straw Hats and go with them to Alabasta.

One Piece Is Finally Back, Marking the First Appearance Franky’s New Voice Actor

It’s time for Kimura Subaru to step up to the mantle as Franky’s new VA, so everyone is wondering just how did he do?

Meanwhile,One Piece’sNico Robin live-action casting was confirmedwith Lera Abova in the role. She’s set to debut in Netflix’sOne Piece, butwhether she joins the Straw Hats by the end of Season 2 or later is up for debate. After all, Robin is initially a villain to the Straw Hats as a member of Crocodile’s Baroque Works, but she has a change of heart and asks to be part of the crew after the events of Alabasta. If Season 2 wraps up the Alabasta saga, then there’s a chance she will be part of the crew, but that may be a later development depending on how things pan out.

Once she joins the Straw Hats, that brings audiences one step closer to meeting the rest of the crew if the live-action series makes it through Skypiea. After that, audiences can finally meet Franky in Water Seven, one ofthe best arcs inOne Piece. Following that, audiences will meet Brook, who also joins the crew pre-time skip. While Jinbe will meet Luffy before the time-skip, if Netflix’s live-action series gets there, he will not join the crew until one of the more recent arcs, Wano.

After Robin And Chopper, The Next Straw Hat Is An Underrated Favorite

With Franky, Comes One Of One Piece’s Best Arcs: Water Seven

All the upcoming Straw Hats are beloved, and everyone has their favorite member of Monkey D. Luffy’s crew, but one of the most underrated Straw Hats is Franky. After Chopper and Robin join the crew, he is the next one up, and people are already eager to seewho will be cast as Franky inOne Piece. This is no surprise because Franky is just so super. When readers first meet Franky, his introduction is a performance in and of itself, complete with pyrotechnics and music.

Chainsaw Man and Demon Slayer Have the Answer to One Piece’s Pacing Problem

When it comes to the upcoming One Piece remake series, developing some of the arcs as movies may help the pacing.

Franky even takes Nami and Luffy by surprise. That’s because he exhibits what initially are thought to be Devil Fruit powers, but instead,Franky is a self-made cyborg, reminding readers that truly anything is possibleinthe world ofOne Piece. On its own, that should be enough to make Franky a memorable character, but on top of that, he is introduced during the Water Seven arc and continues to play an important role through Enies Lobby. The Water Seven saga has some of the best twists inOne Piece, which can unfortunately overshadow some of the amazing moments with Franky.

Meanwhile, Enies Lobby delivers Robin’s backstory, which not only deeply informs Robin’s character, but also reveals the true colors of the World Government, which was more than willing to kill off an entire civilization of people and erase their history and contributions to society just because they dared to question the government. Enies Lobby is phenomenal, and Robin’sscenes in it are some of the best inOne Piece, butthat can make it easy to overlook Frankyand his eventual transition to the Straw Hat Crew. However, one should not overlook Franky, whether that is in this arc or at large.

Franky Embodies What It Means To Be A Straw Hat

One Piece’s Franky Is So Much More Than A Super Cyborg

In Enies Lobby, Franky and Robin are a perfect complement to each other. Where Robin initially sees her life as a burden and expendable, especially if it means protecting the Straw Hats, Franky reminds her that “just being alive, being who you are, is never wrong,” and “there’s no right or wrong in who you are.” For Robin, who has been told since she was a child that her very existence is a sin,Franky’s words light a spark in her, and the other Straw Hats add fuel to itonce they come to her rescue despite the dangers.

One Piece’s Return Is Sparking Controversy All Thanks to a Strange Story Change

The One Piece anime’s return has been met with controversy after some strange additions to the series' new opening.

This alone shows Franky has the makings to be a great Straw Hat, sharing the same beliefs as this crew and its captain, but that’s not the only thing he shares with them. Each member of the Straw Hats has a clear dream they’re chasing, and going on this adventure together helps each of them get closer to their dreams.Franky has his own dream, to build a ship that circles the world, and he can do just this with Luffy and company. Franky fits right in with the Straw Hats, and arc after arc he exhibits a strong moral compass and dedication that is admirable.

Franky from One Piece removing his hand

One of the more recent instances of this is during the Wano arc, where Franky, without hesitation, charges at Big Mom who was an Emperor of the Sea at the time, and hits her square in the face with his motorbike. Where most would run away from Big Mom,Franky is unafraid and willing to do this in the name of his captain. He has the heart of Straw Hat, through and through, so his addition to theOne PieceNetflix live-action series is highly anticipated. Hopefully, the series will continue past Alabasta to see him come to life.
