Michael B. Jordan shares his opinion about a potential reboot ofThe Wire. Created by David Simon, the hit HBO crime drama premiered in 2002, chronicling the drug scene in Baltimore through the eyes of both police officers and dealers.The Wireended with season 5in 2008 and remains one of the most beloved HBO shows of all time. Jordan starred in 13 episodes of the show as Wallace, a young drug dealer who worked for D’Angelo Barksdale (Lawrence Gilliard Jr.).
During a recent video forGQin which he breaks down his most iconic characters, Jordan looks back fondly on his time inThe Wire. After revealing that his role as Wallace opened a lot of doors for him as an actor, Jordan addresses the possibility of the HBO series getting a reboot. The actor takes a firm stance on the matter, saying thathe doesn’t think the series should return in any form. Check out his comment below:
I would love to see that just remain, you know, without a reboot, without a recast, any of that stuff. Just leave it. Leave it where it is. I mean, maybe I’m biased because I’m a part of it, you know what I’m saying. I don’t want to see The Wire rebooted at all.

The TV landscape of today, after all, is very different from the one that existed in the early 2000s. Thankfully, there has been no announcement that a reboot ofThe Wireis in development, meaning Jordan and Hector may get their wishes.
