Giacchino’s Fantastic Four: First Steps Score Cements A Unique MCU Record
The Prolific Composer Has Worked With Marvel For Many Years
Before composing the music forThe Fantastic Four: First Steps, Giacchino had already set the record for composing or co-composing music for the mostMarvel Cinematic Universe movies. He has previously worked on five MCU titles, includingDoctor Strange, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home, andThor: Love and Thunder. This bests rival long-running MCU composers Alan Silvestri, who has four movies under his belt, along with Christophe Beck and Brian Tyler, who have both composed three movies apiece.
Giacchino co-composedThor: Love and Thunderwith Nami Melumad (The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window).

Beck technically ties with Giacchino’s six movies if television titles are counted, as he also composed forWandaVision,Hawkeye, and the upcomingAgatha All Along. However, Giacchino’s small-screen composition credit for the Halloween specialWerewolf by Night, which he also directed, pushes his overall total to seven, cementing his record even more. Additionally, he composed the fanfares for the Marvel Studios' Special Presentations opening, theMarvel Spotlightopening, and the second Marvel Studios opening.
Upcoming Marvel moviescould very well threaten this record, with Silvestri returning to compose bothAvengers: DoomsdayandAvengers: Secret Warsas of the time of writing. It also remains to be seen if he is asked to return to compose for any futureAvengerstitles, as he has written music for every installment in the subfranchise except 2015’sAvengers: The Age of Ultron. However, so far,The Fantastic Four: First Stepsis giving Giacchino an even stronger lead than the one he currently holds as far as being one of the most iconic musical partners for the MCU.
