When can you expect the next season of Marvel Rivals?
It’s only been a week since Season 1 of Marvel Rivals was released, but that doesn’t mean we can’t already start to speculate about Season 2. After all, Marvel Rivals has already given fans so much content, and the developers at NetEase Games have stated that even more is on the way in the future.
How far into the future can players expect the Season 2 content, though? While Season 1 will certainly take some time to run its course, Season 2 might be coming sooner than you think based on the developers' roadmap. Below, we’ll go over everything we know about Marvel Rivals Season 2, including its rumored release date, leaked heroes for the season, and more.
Marvel Rivals Season 2 release date
Currently, there is no concrete release date for the Season 2 update. Unlike other games with a Battle Pass, there is no expiration timer on the seasonal Battle Pass in Marvel Rivals. This is mostly because players who purchase the Battle Pass willnever have it expire for them. While this is great for players who want to unlock all the pass rewards, it also gives us no indication of when the new season will arrive and replace the current Battle Pass.
Fortunately, the developers of Marvel Rivals do have a roadmap in place that offers some release windows for seasonal updates. NetEase Games has gone on record to say new seasons should arrive every three or so months. According to that timeline,Season 2 is currently slated to launch sometime in April 2025. This release window can obviously change as time goes on, but that appears to still be the plan as of mid-January.
Teasers for the new season will likely begin to appear a few weeks before it’s set to launch. However, leaks don’t abide by any official timeline.
Leaked heroes for Marvel Rivals Season 2
As with all leaks, we need to take everything with a grain of salt when it comes to what heroes we can expect to see in Season 2. While NetEase Games has gone on record to say it wants torelease eight heroes per year in Marvel Rivals, there’s no official word on what heroes are planned for the next season.
Of course, there are several leaked heroes in the game files of Marvel Rivals that might indicate what the update has in store. Data miners have found over a dozen heroes in the files, all of whom will likely come to Marvel Rivals at some point over the next year or two. Here are the heroes that are fleshed out in the files and have a chance at coming in Season 2:
There are around eight other leaked heroes floating around in the game files, but the seven above are the ones that appear to be the most likely for Season 2. Professor X, Ultron, and Colussus are the three heroes I would especially keep my eye on, as their full abilities and even some cosmetics have leaked.
