AsMarvel Rivalsmoves into the second half of Season 1, the developers have announced a major user-friendly battle pass change. The second half of Season 1 will see one new map, Central Park, along with two new heroes. These are Johnny Storm, The Human Torch, and Ben Grimm, The Thing. The former is a newaerial Duelist based around fire abilities, while the latter is a new crowd-control heavy Vanguard.

Rivalshas already excelled in theuser-friendly battle pass and currency systemsacross its various features. The battle pass alone is an incredibly friendly feature and a break from the norm, as they do not expire. New Chrono Tokens will need to be farmed each season, but the passes not going away is a plus. This is helped further by the fact that the premium currency Lattice can also be earned in the battle pass. The only major qualm that can be found is skin prices being around $20 or more. However, given how much is given away for free, it is an understandable trade-off.

Marvel Rivals Is Changing How Chrono Tokens Work

An Excess Situation No Longer

One big issue players have with the current system is that Chrono Tokens expire at the end of the season, even if the full pass is completed. Luckily, in the second half of Season 1, this issue will be resolved. After completing the Luxury Battle Pass, players will have the option of turning their leftover Chrono Tokens into Units, which can be used to buy new skins. The exact ratio has not been revealed yet, but leaks are pointing to it being 1,000 Chrono Tokens becoming 100 Units.

This may not be as large of a ratio as some will want, but it is still a huge change. For those who are dedicated to the game and end the season with thousands of tokens,it rewards them with what is essentially a small discount on a future skin purchase. There is a chance this is the incorrect ratio or, if true, it may be lowered in the future, but it is a great start.

Marvel Rivals Is Doubling-Down On User-Friendly Improvements

Proving Community Feedback Works

This change continues a trend of theRivals' developers being extremely open to player feedbackand friendly modifications. Before the game was released, fans were already impressed by the user-friendly features the game offered. Skin bundles may seem pricey, but they offer a lot for the cost and are a fair trade-off. All the battle-pass changes break the mold of what the gaming community has come to expect.

The other aspect of the development team that has been amazing is how well they listen to player feedback and respond quickly. The most recent example is how the team announced competitive ranks would reset at the halfway mark of every season, along with the end. This was not received well by the communityand waschanged a day later to remove the half-season reset. This example, along with ones like buff and nerfs, showcases how amazing theRivals’team has been with the community.

What Changes We Want Next In Marvel Rivals

Aiming For Perfection

As amazing asMarvel Rivalsalready is, in a perfect world there are still some things it could change. Arguably the biggest change that could happen is a way to earn Units easier. This may be lessened once the Chrono Tokens change comes in, but currently, there is a severe lack of ways to get Units consistently. Understandably, they can’t be an easily farmed resource, since the game still has to make money, but perhaps something that could give 50–100 credits a week by playing consistently would be a nice change.

Overall,Marvel Rivalsis well on its way to becoming a long-term success in the industry. Thegameplay is already excellent, while the core features continue to be trend-setting. The only thing that may be the doom of the game at this point would be if content additions slow up considerably. With this seeming unlikely at the moment,Marvel Rivalscontinues to prove its excellence by listening to its players once again.
