Moreover, the reason it is so much lower likely correlates to it being rated R.
Regardless of the merits of makingKravenrated R, it likely struggled with a December release date because it was surrounded by more family-friendly releases for the holiday season, and its main competition in the area of rated R adult-oriented films beingGladiator IIcertainly did not help.
