James Gunn has revealed the first few projects on the newDC Universe’s slate of releases and teased mystery additions. After the end of the old DCEU, Gunn’s new version of the DC franchise starts in a few weeks withCreature Commandos. The animated series is the first of theannounced DCU movies and seriesto premiere, withDavid Corenswet’sSupermanbeing the franchise’s first movie, set for release in July 2025. Now, Gunn has outlined what will be the first projects in the DCU to be released, includingSupermanandCreature Commandos.

During the interview, Gunn also revealed that the Green Lantern series will be released around the Supergirl movie, which means a 2026 release, though he did not specify if it would come out before or after Kara Zor-El’s film. John Cena’s anti-hero will come back in 2025 alongside David Corenswet’s Superman movie, with Frank Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr. debuting in December’sCreature Commandosbefore playing important roles in those two 2025 projects. DC also has its 2026 schedule shaping up nicely.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrowreleases on June 17, 2025.According to Gunn,Lanternswill also be released around that time, with the Green Lantern series likely coming to HBO a couple of months before or after the Supergirl movie. Not related to the DCU is Robert Pattinson’sThe Batman - Part II, which will be released on July 26, 2025. That likely takes out a movie slot for the DCU in 2026. However, there are announced projects with no release dates, like Batman’sThe Brave and the Boldmovie and HBO’sBooster Gold, which could be released in 2027.

Creature Commandos

Cast

Superman
