On Twitter,@DCWorldTelugushared a video of Glen Powell explaining the circumstances behind the BTS video. According to the actor, Corenswet called hisTwistersco-stars to reveal that he had been cast as Superman, which is when they all started to freak out on camera. Powell was one of the first to comment on the news when Corenswet’s Superman casting was announced to the world. On Instagram (via@homeofdcu/Twitter), the actor shared James Gunn’s post about the casting, saying, “My hero. You’re gonna crush it.”

Twistersdirector Lee Isaac Chung also commented on Corenswet’s Superman casting. Speaking to theInside Total Filmpodcast, Chung said, “There’s this genuine purity to him, in a weird way, that I feel fits in a lot with Superman.” The director also commented on how Corenswet stays within the characters he plays for a little while before moving on, and so his Superman “aura” was felt on theTwistersset after he came back from a round of auditions. When Corenswet returned, Chung says he thought the actor got the role because of how he just felt like Superman.
