On Callseries creator Elliot Wolf has explained whether Wolf Entertainment’s latest streaming series takes place in the sharedOne Chicagouniverse. The Prime Video series is the first from the production company to be a half-hour per episode, focused on officer Traci Harmon (Troian Bellisario) and rookie Alex Diaz (Brandon Larracuente) as they respond to calls in Long Beach, California. The procedural style is similar to other shows produced by the studio, including those that fall under theLaw & Order,One ChicagoandFBIumbrellas, created by Dick Wolf. These three franchises also connect in the same universe.
Speaking withVariety, Wolf explained thatOn Calldoes not currently take place in the same universe as his father’s franchises,One Chicago,Law & Order, andFBI. However,the series creator is open to the idea. He explained how it could still work even though actors like Monica Raymund, who plays Gabby Dawson inChicago Fire, appear in different roles on the show, citing how Wolf Entertainment’s other series reuse actors. Perhaps future seasons can have throwaway lines revealing its placement in the shared universe, without making it something the series relies on all that much. Even if a crossover would be exciting to see.
