Love Is Blind UKtook the reality TV world by storm, and I’m convinced it was way better than anyLove Is Blinditeration thus far, U.S. or otherwise. The couples who made it out of the pods were authentic, mature human beings with whom it was easy to empathize. The mere fact that six couples made it to the altar makes the U.S. version pale in comparison. With sexual harassment and production blunders galore,Love Is Blindseason 5 only saw two couples make it to their wedding day, and season 6 wasn’t much better.
Fans watched six couples embark on the journey of a lifetime inLove Is BlindUKseason 1, with Catherine Richards and Freddie Powell, Demi Santana Brown and Ollie Sutherland, Maria Benkh and Tom Stroud, Sabrina Vittoria & Steven Smith,Nicole Stevens and Benaiah Grunewald Brydie, and Bobby Johnson and Jasmine leaving the pods engaged. While all seemed to be smooth sailing heading into the honeymoon episodes, not everybody said yes at the altar. As fans awaitLove Is Blindseason 7’s release on October 2, it’s time to talk about whyLove Is Blind UKwas way better.

Love Is Blind UK Is More Authentic
Love Is Blind UKfelt more real from start to finish. The couples seemed genuinely suited to each other and, aside from Sam Klein, weren’t trying to ascertain the appearances of the person on the other side of the wall in the pods. Additionally, contestants were respectful towards each other, especially when there were issues over dating the same person. For example, Demi still treats Catherine kindly, even when she finds out they are both dating Ollie. Freddie was also open to Catherine having a discussion with Ollie on the honeymoon portion instead of getting jealous.
Because everyone seemed more authentic, the drama was way better onLove Is Blind UK. Sam confronting Benaiah at the pod squad outing about Nicole allegedly wanting to sleep with him was shocking, and yet, it still seemed real rather than manufactured by producers. The drama between Maria and Tom regarding traditional gender roles was a more authentic conversation that still created some intense drama.

Producers need to stop forcing drama and let issues crop up naturally.
Ollie and Demi’s communication issues mirrored those of a real couple rather than an out-of-proportion, explosive blowout usually seen on reality TV. Lastly, Catherine created enough drama of her own by telling Freddie not to “pet her like a dog,” an awkward moment that still, unfortunately, seemed genuine.
Love Is Blind UK Did A Better Job At Casting
Overall, I thinkLove Is Blind UKwas ultimately better because the producers didn’t mess up the casting. Tran Dong, a cast member fromLove Is Blindseason 5, is still in a lawsuit due to sexual assault perpetrated by her former fiancé. Additionally, Renee Poche, anotherLove Is Blindseason 5 cast member, had her storyline cut after she was forced to stay with her abusive ex-fiance, Carter Wall. While Chelsea Blackwell’s rejection of Trevor Sova was upsetting at the time, it turned out he had a girlfriend at home.

Love Is Blind UK’s cast was kind and dynamic without having any of the outlandish problemslike the U.S. cast. While Sabrina and Steven divorced after their wedding day, Bobby & Jasmine and Benaiah & Nicole are happier than ever.
