Assassin’s Creed Shadowstakes a somewhat complex approach to its ending, requiring narrative conclusions to several individual plot threads before the credits roll. After the credits, there’s an even more elusive epilogue, which rewards Naoe with some of the coolest gear in the game. None of the ending components are branching, so it’s possible (and ideal) to hit them all in one playthrough.

The main quest of the game focuses on hunting down the villainous Shinbakufu, so the first part of the ending hinges on completing that task. Afterward,Naoe and Yasuke each have individual plot lines to wrap up, although the order in which they’re approached is flexible. Finally, the epilogue hinges on completing sidequests starring Junjiro, the child who lives at the hideout throughout the game.
How To Get The Shinbakufu Ending
Work Your Way Through Every Target
Working your way through the Shinbakufu targets will take up the majority of a standardAssassin’s Creedplaythrough, with each having several associated quests to complete. There’s not a strict order tocompleting the Shinbakufu, but a few have to be done first or last, and you should avoid higher-level targets until you’re prepared to take them on.

The final two to deal with will be The Two-Faced and The Horseman, in that order. When you’ve reached them, you can complete the quests without worrying, as it won’t trigger the ending of the game until you’ve wrapped up Naoe and Yasuke’s stories. Yoshiaki will catch Naoe and Yasuke up on some quest information if they haven’t yet figured it out on their own, but the quest content will be the same regardless of where they learn the information from.
How To Get The Naoe Ending
Unravel Naoe’s Story
Naoe’s ending is the simpler of the two character endings, as her final quest only has a small, optional fight rather than a major climactic showdown.You need to complete four Naoe quests one-by-one, but the other Naoe quests that focus on Assassin Outposts are optional. If you don’t complete those, meeting The Horseman will still unlock The Meaning of the Blade.
The final Naoe quest is The Meaning of the Blade. If you’re playing without Canon Mode, you’ll have the option to Forgive or Attack Hanzo, followed by another choice to Forgive or Kill him.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Should You Play Canon Mode?
Canon Mode completely changes how you play Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but the option could be very attractive for some and unappealing for others.
Hanzo’s fate will be the same regardless of your choices here, butyou’ll only have to fight him if you choose Kill. If this is completed after the Shinbakufu and Yasuke’s final quest, credits will roll here.
How To Get The Yasuke Ending
Track Down The Templars
Although he lacks the same ties to the Assassin Brotherhood, Yasuke’s ending actually requires a good bit more assassination than Naoe’s. His quests won’t start appearing until later in the game than Naoe’s, as a certain amount of Shinbakufu progress is required, but you don’t need to worry that you’ll miss them. The first batch of Yasuke quests required to access the ending is as follows:
Yasuke’s story will then move to a set of Templar quests on the Objectives screen, which can be found directly beneath the Shinbakufu. As with Naoie, the final Shinbakufu encounter will jumpstart some of the progress here if it hasn’t already been made.Completing the Templar quests is what will trigger Yasuke’s ending, and credits will roll here if Naoe’s has been completed.
As Yasuke tends to handle duels quite easily, the fight you’ll want to be most prepared for is actually the one in Fighting for the Cause, which triggers a large-scale brawl with a school full of acolytes. The Silver Queen and A Promise both require some searching, so you may find yourself missing Naoe’s Eagle Vision when completing them as Yasuke.
How To Get The Epilogue Ending
Complete Junjiro’s Quests
You won’t be able to complete the epilogue until after the credits, but you can get started on the progress for it earlier in the game. Almost all the necessary quests will appear under Junjiro in the Objectives screen.The only exception is the final quest, Out of the Shadows, which will appear under Tomikoafter the rest have been completed.
