Bob has quickly become a fan-favorite fromBeetlejuice Beetlejuice, raising questions about the character and his original fate.Characters in the afterlife often resemble some form of themselves, allowing the film to demonstrate how they died, often in absurdly brutal ways. Members of theBeetlejuice 2cast, including Monica Bellucci’s Delores and Santiago Cabrera’s Richard, are shown to be dead, with notable visual features indicating their causes of death: dismembering and a piranha attack, respectively.
As for Bob, he lives among the dead in the afterlife, but it’s hard to tell how exactly he has died, seeing as he doesn’t speak and his appearance is rather irregular.Bob is among similar company in his group, the Shrinkers, who work for Betelgeuse at the call center. As the main representative and leader of his organization, Bob’s hilarious presence in the comedy horror sequel has quickly become beloved, adding to the pain of his second death in theBeetlejuice 2ending.
While theBeetlejuicemovies demonstrate some fairly irregular deaths, such as the shark attack and piranha attack, it seems unlikely that Bob and each of the other Shrinkers somehow died from shrunken heads. In the originalBeetlejuice, the character namedHarry the Hunter has his head shrunk by the Witch Doctor, both of whom are present in the waiting room. The movie then ends with the Witch Doctor doing the same to Betelgeuse.

Then,he would’ve arrived in the afterlife waiting room and had his head shrunk by the Witch Doctor.Beetlejuice 2doesn’t really provide any concrete information on the matter, but this seems to be the most likely origin for the Shrinkers. If there’s ever a thirdBeetlejuicemovie, briefly exploring the lives of Bob and the Shrinkers is absolutely paramount.

For a moment, it even seems like Bob is about to speak before he dies but doesn’t have the opportunity.He’s killed once again, marking the final end for Betelgeuse’s right-hand manand arguably the saddest death inBeetlejuice 2, given how quickly audiences had grown attached to the shrunken-headed zombie. It’s a devastating blow, but at least the end credits gave him a special, well-deserved R.I.P. nod.
