The other thing we spoke about was Daemon’s power and Daemon’s strength in that scene. It’s very easy for Daemon to come across as someone who’s weak and is just like “OK, yeah, you’re number one.” That’s not what the intention was. The intention is that Daemon is almost — and this is my opinion — I felt like Daemon was almost like a Yoda.
He’s saying, “I know what’s coming and I will be here to be your guide, your best friend, to be whatever you need, but you are the Chosen One.” That is what Matt and I talked about. That’s actually the ultimate power that Daemon has, that he’s saying I’m here to usher and guide you. Not as a man, but as part of this mission.

He Now Understands The Song Of Ice & Fire
For much ofHouse of the Dragonseason 2, Daemon was in Harrenhal, the haunted castle provoking him to have visions and disturbing dreams, including seeing Milly Alcock’s young Rhaenyra and Paddy Considine’s King Viserys. However, during the season 2 finale, Alys takes Daemon to a Weirwood tree where he foresees a future seen inGame of Thrones– including a White Walker, Daenerys Targaryen, and the Three-Eyed Raven. Afterward,Daemon sees himself as part of a larger storyand decides to swear fealty to Rhaenyra.

Daemon Targaryen has more visions at Harrenhal in House of the Dragon’s season 2 finale, connecting to his story, Rhaenyra, and even Game of Thrones.
Daemon sees a White Walker and a Targaryen woman with three dragons in his vision, allowing him to understand the Song of Ice and Fire, Aegon the Conqueror’s dream which has been passed down from king to heir, including Viserys to Rhaenyra at the end of the very first episode. Aegon’s dream foretold of a coming darkness that would descend from the North and destroy the world, i.e. the White Walkers. This vision reveals the prophecy to him, andDaemon comes to believe that Rhaenyra is their only chance at unifying Westeros against their common enemy.
However, Daemon does slightly misinterpret the prophecy since he confuses Rhaenyra and Daenerys. Nevertheless, after his vision, Daemon swears fealty to her, convinced that Rhaenyra must ascend the Iron Throne for Westeros to withstand the looming darkness, which he witnessed firsthand.
