How To Verify Integrity Of Game Files
The Quickest Fix, If You’re Lucky Enough
The very first step you should try is verifying your game files. To do this, open the launcher,navigate to Settings > My Installed Games and click Grand Theft Auto V > Verify Integrity. It’ll take some time for the launcher to make sure everything is where it’s supposed to be, after which you’ll hopefully be good to go. If instead you’re on Steam, you can complete the same process by right clicking Grand Theft Auto V in the Library tab, then Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files.
If you have any mods installed, things get more complicated. To be on the safe side, you’ll want to uninstall them first and delete their respective folders, then clean install the game.

The Rockstar Launcher ain’t the most player-friendly software around, and unfortunately it may be the cause of the issues here, as it has been many times in the past. Anyway, the second, slightly more annoying fix is to uninstall Rockstar Launcher (but not the game, which will thankfully remain intact if you tell it to by unchecking the box in the launcher for that). To do this,head to C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Launcher and click uninstall.exe. Once the uninstall process is complete, delete any remaining files and folders within these folders:
Next, restart your computer and reinstallRockstar Games Launcher. Again, to be on the safe side, right click on the Launcher and elect to ‘Run as administrator.’
How To Update Windows And Graphics Drivers
You May Want A Fresh Start
Apart from that, the usual generic advice applies: update Windows and update your graphics drivers. The former you can do easily by simplytyping ‘Update’ in your Windows search bar and clicking ‘Check for updates’. For the latter, head to theNVIDIA,AMD, orIntelwebsite (depending which graphics card you have) and install their latest drivers. If you want to be on the safe side, use the clean install option; if you want to be on thereallysafe side, you can try out Display Driver Uninstaller, which will fully clean out your system of driver files, ensuring a fresh start.
Ways GTA 6’s Cars Can Improve On Grand Theft Auto 5’s
Driving is one of the best parts of Grand Theft Auto 5, but there’s ample room for GTA 6 to make improvements when it comes to cars and vehicles.
