On July 15th , 2002 , the first post fit live on Gizmodo . Say , that was ten age ago exactly . Happy birthday to us !
In the summer of ’ 02,Gizmodo ’s founding editor , Pete Rojas was write about things that are quaint to the point of hilarityfrom up here on 2012 ’s high buck . iPod musical accompaniment for window had in conclusion make it . We posted a laser printer roundup . We were eager for the launching of the Roomba . We wondered “ Where Are All the FMP3 Players ? ” Now I ’m not certain we even know what that meant . plainly they never arrived .
Today , starting with that little iPod , Apple has put many of the companionship we once wrote about out of business organization and become the business leader of consumer electronics , Google makes data processor you bust on your typeface and supply everyone with spare e-mail , and you may hook yourself up with moderately much every movie , video show , and piece of medicine ever create over the Internet — to a small , thin information processing system you hold in your hands , if you ’d like . We ’re living in a present that would ’ve made Gizmodo 2002 ’s center bulge . This gadgety nowadays has its problems , its complexness , and its thwarting , but above all its a time of awe and enjoyment .

Like any halfway decent birthday party , we ’re beaming to be capable to front up at those around us and see favorable faces ( that means you ! ) reading along and discussing this stuff with us . The Gizmodo squad has changed again and again over the preceding decade , but the spirit of astonishment and fun we incur every mean solar day wo n’t ever , so before we all start choking up , countenance ’s dig into this next 10 . But be warn : there ’s a good opportunity you ’ll be wearing a computer on your face by the ending of it .
As a topic of clearing : The Gizmodo that commence publish in July was not live . These early posts were just frontloading — a common practice wherein you fulfil your caisson with content so new visitors do n’t show up to a site with like two news report on it . So even though we go publish in July , we ’ll be celebrating our birthday in Augsust . Stay tune up !
For now , we ’d care to recognize all the people who convey us to where we are today , from our founding fathers — Gawker Publisher Nick Denton and founding editor in chief Peter Rojas — through the five EICs we ’ve had along the agency , to the houseman who facilitate us every individual day : We have it away you guys and are thankful for all the oeuvre you ’ve put into the site .

Get ready for one netherworld of a party in August .
