TheGenshin Impact5.5 livestream is expected to occur soon and its date and time should be revealed within the next few days, leading up to a presentation that will showcase all the new planned content for the action RPG.This includes the details about the two confirmed playable character additions, Varesa and Iansan, as well as information about the rumored new map area in Natlan. The Version 5.5 beta tests have already revealed a large portion of what may appear during the livestream, such as thenew World Quests inGenshin Impact5.5.
Based on the leaks that have been shared so far, Version 5.5 will be a considerably larger patch than Version 5.4, which relied exclusively on events to carry players through its six-week period –alternatively, there are rumors of new story missions, a new area, and two characters(Version 5.4 only had one new character, Yumemizuki Mizuki). While Version 5.4’s event story quests revealed important information about Teyvat, its limited-time status will make a lot of the content disappear after the conclusion of the update and the arrival of the upcoming patch.

Genshin Impact 5.5 Livestream - Date & Time
The Event Should Follow The Game’s Regular Schedule
Luckily, players will not have to wait too long to see what they will receive once Version 5.5 arrives. Based onGenshin Impact’s regular update schedule, which normally lasts six weeks,Version 5.5 should arrive on March 26 – and because livestreams tend to occur on Friday mornings, two weeks before the next patch, the Version 5.5 livestream is expected to happen on March 14 at some point in the morning(the Version 5.4 livestream occurred at 7 AM ET). The exact date and time will likely be confirmed by developer HoYoverse during the days leading up to the presentation.
Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: New World Boss Will Require A Specific Team Comp To Face It
Details about a new world boss in Genshin Impact 5.5 have leaked and been shared, providing insight into what team comps will be necessary to use.
So far, there haven’t been any rumors of a possible delay for the contents of Version 5.5, which also means that it’s unlikely that the livestream itself will be postponed. Usually, when there is a delay with the patch itself, HoYoverse tends to push the livestream back from when it would normally occur. This hasn’t happened in a while, however, as the action RPG has been following a steady course with its updates. As such, it’s somewhat safe to speculate that theGenshin Impact5.5 livestream will happen on March 14, just a few weeks before the patch’s projected arrival.

Genshin Impact 5.5 Livestream - New Characters & Leaked Banners
Two New Characters Are Confirmed & Leaks Tease An Anticipated Rerun
As was previously mentioned, two new characters are confirmed for Version 5.5: Varesa and Iansan. Varesa is rumored to be a 5-star Electro character who uses a catalyst in battle, while rumors say Iansan is a 4-star Electro unit who wields a polearm. Based onVaresa’s leaked gameplay kit inGenshin Impact5.5,the upcoming character will be an Electro DPS who specializes in Plunging Attacks. As seen in the leaks so far, Varesa can use her Charged Attack to headbutt enemies in front of her and leap into the air, which can then be followed by a Plunging Attack.
Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: You Can Already Farm Varesa Materials (Except For These Two Items)
A new set of leaks for Genshin Impact 5.5 has emerged and interested players may start pre-farming the majority of Varesa’s rumored materials.
In addition to these regular moves, the leaks show that Varesa can use her Skill to deal damage to enemies and gain the Follow-Up Strike effect, which allows her to use a Charged Attack without consuming stamina(which can be used to set up an easy Plunging Attack). The leaked Hold version of her Skill can put her in the Sudden Onrush state, which increases her Movement SPD and interruption resistance and permits her to use terrain to trigger flying leaps and traverse over water or liquid Phlogiston. This is the equivalent of her Nightsoul’s Blessing state inGenshin Impact.

The leaks show that Varesa’s Burst deals AoE Electro DMG to enemies and restores her Nightsoul points to maximum. An important part of Varesa’s kit is her ability to gain Nightsoul points via her Plunging Attacks, Skill, and Burst. Once she is at maximum Nightsoul points, Varesa is said to enter the Fiery Passion state.Fiery Passion is rumored to buff her Normal Attacks, Skill, and Burst, and allows her to trigger a special secondary Burst after a Plunging Attack, which ignores her Burst’s cooldown and consumes less Energy.
Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: You Can Already Prepare For The Update By Completing These Missions
A new region may be arriving with the release of Genshin Impact 5.5, according to leaks about recommended quest completions for the beta tests.
While Varesa is the only new 5-star unit, theleakedGenshin Impact5.5 bannersshow that Xianyun may rerun with her in Phase 1. Xianyun is well acclaimed as one of the best support characters for Plunging Attack DPS units like Xiao, so it seems fitting that she would rerun alongside a brand-new Plunging Attack DPS like Varesa. The leaked Phase 2 banners are seemingly composed of Xilonen and Venti reruns– while Venti has already rerun several times in the game considering he was the very first 5-star unit, this is the first Xilonen rerun ever.

For players who don’t have her, I’d highly recommend pulling forXilonen’s rerun inGenshin Impact5.5because she is one of the best supports thanks to her high RES shred.
Iansan is rumored to be a 4-star unit and she should be showcased during the Version 5.5 livestream. So far,the leaks have teased her role as a support, capable of buffing allies’ ATK stat and even healing them based on her ATK stat. It is speculated that she will appear in Phase 1 banners with increased drop rates. The other 4-star characters who have been leaked as features with increased drop rates in banners are Gaming, Faruzan, Beidou, and Yanfei. Aside fromIansan inGenshin Impact, the featured 4-star units may not appear in the Version 5.5 livestream, however.

Genshin Impact 5.5 Livestream - Leaked Map Updates, Quests, Events, & More
There Seems To Be A Lot Of New Content To Play Through Based On Leaks
One of the central aspects of the content in Version 5.5 is rumored to be a new map area west of the People of the Springs. According to a leak by Kazusa, which was shared onReddit, the zone is called Atocpan, and it should contemplate the Great Volcano of Tollan, which has been looming on the horizon. The leaks about this location have shown that it is a multilayered area, which likely means that players will be able to explore the depths of the volcano. The area should also feature the Collective of Plenty tribe inGenshin Impact.
Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: New Natlan Map Feature Will Add Extra Excitement To Exploration (But You Might Hate It)
The rumored new map area in Genshin Impact 5.5 may have an environmental hazard mechanic that could enhance general exploration in Natlan.
Aside from the location itself, there have been several heavy rumors about a related World Quest series that should help guide the Traveler, Paimon, and the Saurian companion through the area. The leaks have also shown some NPCs that may appear during the World Quests, including a specter of Waxaklahun Ubah Kan, the Sage of the Stolen Flame who taught humanity how to wield Phlogiston and eventually helped Xbalanque, the first Pyro Archon of Natlan.

There are also rumors about two new Artifact sets in Version 5.5, which should be confirmed during the livestream.
While the leaks about specific events in the patch have been mostly superficial, the leaks about the number ofPrimogems inGenshin Impact5.5have shown thatplayers will be able to obtain a fair amount from limited-time events, which seems on par with the amount that is usually made available through these activities in most updates. The Version 5.5 livestream should also show all the events offered by the patch and what can be claimed as rewards for participating.

Overall, based solely on leaks, it seems like there is a lot of content in store for Version 5.5 – and most of it will likely be confirmed or, at least, teased by the patch’s livestream. Players shouldn’t have to wait much longer before they get to see what they will be playing through during the upcoming weeks after the arrival ofGenshin Impact.
