The artist makes reference to the fact that their piece is a"recreation" of a “popular photo of Jason and his mom.“In the final image in the Instagram posts, the artist includes said photo. In that image, actor Palmer smiles at the camera while embracing her fictional son, Jason. She is seen wearing a sweater similar to the one she sported in the originalFriday the 13thmovie.
The artist is right in assessing that this is a more “wholesome” moment between Jason and Mrs. Voorhees. This is a more joyful look at Pamela Voorhees,before her death by decapitation. Pamela was killed by Alice Hardy, who used Pamela’s own machete knife to slay Mrs. Voorhees. While Alice is a hero for killing Pamela after her Camp Crystal Lake massacre, Alice unfortunately becomes the firstvictim of Jason. Throughout the main film series, Jason and his mother never directly interact.
