OneLaw & Order: Special Victims Unitstar is ready to crossover into other Dick Wolf shows. Telling the story of an NYPD unit dedicated to fighting criminal sexual offenses, the show wasLaw & Order’s first spin-offand has been running since 1999. Over the years, the cast has almost completely turned over, leaving only Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson from season 1. Retaining Hargitay is impressive, as the series is already airing season 26, andSVUis currently awaiting its season 27 renewal.

Kelli Giddish, who joined the show in season 13, spoke withScreen Rantexclusively about her experiences onSVU. While Giddish has enjoyed Rollin’s role in the Intelligence Unit, she would love to appear in another Dick Wolf show. She enjoyed appearing inChicago P.D., soa newLaw & Order,FBI, orOne Chicagocrossover would be thrilling for her. Check out her full quote below:

Benson and Rollins sitting on a couch in Law and Order: SVU

I think that’d be so much fun. And what an opportunity that Dick Wolf and Company has set up with us all inhabiting the same world that that’s actually possible. When I went over to Chicago P.D., years ago, it was so much fun.You get to be on a completely different set with a completely different cast and crew and you get to go play for a week, so I’m definitely open to any of that.

What Kelli Giddish’s Statement Means For Law & Order

Rollins May Cross Over With Other Shows

Rollins is no longer assigned to the Special Victims Unit, as she is now a member of the Intelligence Unit. As an Intelligence Investigator,it is Rollins' job to travel around the city to conduct counter-terrorism operations. That means that she can easily engage with other teams and potentially evenother Dick Wolf shows.

Giddish has been fueling speculation about a potential Rollins-led spin-off show.

She has already made appearances inChicago FireandChicago P.D., so Rollins' reintroduction would not require too much explanation. She could even cross into other shows, including the originalLaw & OrderorFBI: Most Wanted.Part of the appeal of the franchise has always been its ability to expand its reach into other cities and concepts.

Rollins spent much of her career onSVU, but the newly-mobile role provides her with the opportunity to jump to different shows. She could easily become a traveling character, who has regular guest appearances in each of the Dick Wolf shows.Without a place onBenson’sSVUteam, that can provide her with her only reasonable opportunity to enjoy regular appearances, outside mundane drama.

Our Take On Potential Amanda Rollins Crossovers

Dick Wolf’s Universe Was Built For Crossovers

Crossovers are a natural next step for Rollins.Considering how many Dick Wolf shows are currently on TV, Rollins could serve as the glue to tie them together. She is in a unique position, wherein her counter-terrorism operations could very well take her to other cities to investigate potential threats. A spin-off is likely the best platform for her character, as constant crossovers could be jarring, but she would be well-served by expanding fromLaw & Order: Special Victims Unitinto other shows.
