Summary
Counsellor Florrick is a potential ally inBaldur’s Gate 3, an advisor and friend to Ulder Ravengard who can give orders to the Flaming Fist. She appears in each act of the game, first requiring rescue from a fire at Waukeen’s Rest, next planning an attack inside the Last Light Inn, and finally imprisoned within Wyrm’s Rock Fortress. It is here that players have the chance to get Florrick out of prison and gain her allegiance as anally in the final fight against the Absolute.
This is a relatively easy quest, and many players will take the chance to get her out of her cell early on in Act Three when passing through Wyrm’s Rock. However, this quest to free Counsellor Florrick has a particularly dark endingif players do not free her within a given time. Unless they wish to find the elven woman hanging from the gallows near Basilisk Gate, players should verify to save her before time runs out.

“An Iconic, Engaging Mess Of Brilliant Ideas”: Baldur’s Gate 3 Review
Baldur’s Gate 3 is imposing in stature and its best moments are truly memorable, but some early issues with scale suggest an uneven experience.
Florrick’s Quest In BG3 Has A Ticking Clock With Real Consequences
Florrick Will Be Executed If The Quest Isn’t Completed Fast Enough
While many quests withinBaldur’s Gate 3try to establish a sense of urgency, there is rarely a failure condition that results from not acting within a given time. Florrick’s rescue is an exception. Once players receive the quest to get her out of Wyrm’s Rock, they have five days to do so before she is publicly executed.
The quest can be triggered in three ways: first, by running into Florrick within the prison itself; second, by reading a poster in the Lower City that announces her planned execution; and third, by freeing and speaking to Ulder Ravengard about the Counsellor. In each case, after players receive the quest, they can take up to five long rests before it is automatically failed. While this is a large amount of rests, and many players will get around to helping Florrick before the timer runs out, it still puts a meaningful timer on her life.

The Consequences Of Letting Florrick Die In BG3 Act 3
The Party Is Locked Out Of Other Quests
For players that either forget or ignore Florrick’s plight, they face several consequences. First, they miss out on receiving Florrick’s aid inBG3’s final fight. While there are a ton of allies that players can find in Act Thrree, missing out on any of them is not ideal. Second, they will have to witness the disturbing image of Florrick’s body hanging at the Lower City gallows, along with any guilt or emotional pain that comes with that.
One consequence that some players may not think about is missing out on the Wyrmway quest tofind the dragon, Ansur. In the event that Ulder Ravengard does not survive the Iron Throne, Florrick is the NPC who gives the information required to find this quest. If both of them end up dead, characters in the game have no way of knowing how to enter the Wyrmway.Baldur’s Gate 3has many failsafes to ensure players don’t miss out on content, but this is one case where failure in one quest can mean missing out on another one entirely.
