With the release of the Season 1 Battle Pass inMarvel Rivals, players will be able to acquire up to 10 new skins for pre-existing characters, most of which are matched to the gothic vampire hunter theming of the season. While the majority of the new skins are incredible, there are a few that leave a bit to be desired.

Although the two new additional characters,Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic, will also have some seasonally themed skins, they will be debuting with those skins available at the time of their launch. Therefore, they will not be included in this list, which will focus onpre-existing characters who are receiving new cosmetics as part of the Season 1 Battle Pass.

10Blue Tarantula

Peni Parker & Sp//dr

While it’s nice that Peni Parker received another new skin as part of the Season 1 Battle Pass, it is a pretty disappointing one. Unlike some of the others which are on theme for the season or feature a unique design, Peni Parker’s Blue Tarantula skin is simply that. This skin is a blue re-skin of her base design, meaning that there are no other uniquechanges to Peni Parker or Sp//dr, just a simple color swap from red to blue.

Best Marvel Rivals PC Settings For High FPS & Graphics

Having high FPS and graphics can help you fix a major bug in Marvel Rivals, so you’ll want to adjust your settings to optimize the game’s performance.

Not only is the blue a somewhat worse color option than the base design, butit’s far from her best skin, considering that her Ven#m skin is so uniqueand stands out among others. The other skin in her lineup is yet another color variant of the default skin in an olive green color, increasing the disappointment with the new offering. While it’s obvious that some common rarity skins will be present, it still seems like a wasted opportunity to turn Sp//dr into something incredible for this season’s battle pass.

9Blood Moon Knight

Moon Knight

Similar to Peni Parker’s Season 1 Battle Pass skin,Moon Knight’s new skinis essentially a color swap of his base design. However, it isn’t a complete 1:1, as the Blood Moon Knight skin does feature a handful of changes to the design. Most notably, the cape features a large vampire hunter decal on the back.

The 10 Best Marvel Rivals Skin Mods, Ranked

While the developers haven’t approved the use of skin mods, that hasn’t stopped fans from making a plethora of unique skins that look great in-game.

That being said, aside from this small change, the design is more or less the same, just swapping the white and blue for black and red. The only other benefit that this design has over Peni Parker’s is that, since it is a complete color change that encompasses the entire outfit, it does emit an entirely different vibe. This skin can change the glowing white appearance of Moon Knight in gameplay into something a little more stealthy, which some players may prefer and appreciate.

8King Magnus

Magneto

Unlike some of the other Season 1 Battle Pass skins, the King Magnus skin for Magneto is not aMarvel Rivalsoriginal concept design, as it is reminiscent of the design from the comic issueHouse of M (2005) #6. For this reason alone, it’san appreciable nod to a piece of source material for the character, which helps make up for the fact that the design, in comparison to some of the others, feels a little lackluster.

Marvel Rivals: Do Chronotokens Expire Or Carry Over Each Season?

Though Marvel Rivals microtransactions are still user-friendly, one recent clarification about the battle pass shows the optimal path for players.

Although it is the only current skin that features Magneto without anything covering his face, the overall look is pretty plainand feels as though it would be out of place on a battlefield surrounded by iconic villains and superheroes. It’s not the worst design in the battle pass since it is unique from anything else the character already has, but it is still one of the weaker designs by far.

7Emporium Matron

Scarlet Witch

Like Magneto’s King Magnus skin, Scarlet Witch’s Emporium Matron is directly inspired by a design from a specific comic book issue, specificallyX-Men: Hellfire Gala (2022) #1. This is the second of Scarlet Witch’s skins that is a 1:1 from other source material, with the first being her design fromDoctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness. Just like that design, the Emporium Matron skin is unique when compared to her other current skins.

Are you excited for The Fantastic Four to join Marvel Rivals?

The Fantastic Four are joining the Marvel Rivals roster on January 10th. This game is an absolute blast, getting rave reviews from both gaming critics and players. Not only are the environments incredibly detailed, but it is fun and easy to play. There are many characters to choose from, so that gamers can pick one that suits their skills. The Fantastic Four are the first Marvel family, so it just makes sense that they are a part of the game. Of course, this also makes sense, because in 2025 Marvel fans are getting a new Fantastic Four movie. I cannot wait to try out all of these new characters when they join the game.

That being said, it alsodoesn’t feature extensive details or stand out significantly in any way. It’s an interesting skin that offers another variation onthe traditional Scarlet Witch designbut perhaps could’ve benefited from a bit more detail or extravagance. When compared to others like Rocket Raccoon’s Season 1 Battle Pass skin, it just feels a little bit simple.

6Savage Sub-Mariner

Namor

In direct reference toSub-Mariner (1968) #67, Namor’s Season 1 Battle Pass Skin is the Savage Sub-Mariner. Aside from Namor’sBlack Panther: Wakanda Foreverskin, this is now the only other available skin for this character that isn’t just a color variant of the default skin. Objectively, it’s probablythe best of Namor’s skins as it matches the intensity of some of the other hero skins in the gameand would certainly stand out in a match.

Marvel Rivals Update Has Great News For Players, But It Comes With A Catch

Marvel Rivals is adding some much-needed balance changes, but it could be the start of a dangerous trend plaguing the competitive games industry.

However, similar to Scarlet Witch’s Battle Pass skin, it is still pretty simplistic overall andsomewhat overshadowed by some of the more elaborate Battle Pass skins. The fact that it doesn’t match the seasonal theme seems like a missed opportunity, especially given that the trident could’ve doubled as a pitchfork for a cool twist on an angry villager or vampire hunter design.

5All-Butcher

Loki

Although Loki’s All-Butcher skin is one of the most prominent ofthe Season 1 Battle Pass, being one of the few with a unique showcase animation attached to it, it still feels like it’s missing something. There’s no denying that the design is incredible overall and any Loki player would be happy to have it. However, it doesn’t feel that unique, which is a shame for such an iconic character in and out of the game.

What Marvel Rivals Season 1 Hero Designs Mean For Role Queue

Mr. Fantastic’s hybrid ability toolset, and the potential of future heroes to follow suite, pose more problems for implementing a role queue feature.

Inspired byThor (2018) #6, Loki’s All-Butcher design is undeniably a Loki design, meaning nothing about this look feels out of place. The design, the colors, the theme, and everything else about it are so in-your-face Loki that it almost makes you wishMarvel Rivalshad gone the opposite way and tried something unique. Ultimately, this just feels like a safe design choice for the character, but it is still undeniably cool, which is why it ranks above some of the others.

4Blood Soul

Adam Warlock

Adam Warlock is one of the few who received aMarvel Rivalsoriginal design for the Season 1 Battle Pass focused on the theme of the season, and it clearly shows. The design is not only elaborate and intricate, but it’s also simply amazing. It seems to somehow find a balance betweenmaintaining the overall feel of the character while also creating something unique.

What is your favorite map in Marvel Rivals?

Currently, there are four locations/maps in Marvel Rivals: Yggsgard, Tokyo 2099, Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda, and Hydra Charteris Base. While I’m a really big fan of the Hydra base, I’m also very excited to explore the vampire-infested New York that’s coming in the game’s first season, which is about to launch this week.

No part of the design feels as though it opposes anything the character is known for. If anything, it only enhances what madethe original Adam Warlock designgreat, while also pulling back some of the intensity and sharp angles of the original design. Thankfully, the original color scheme works well with the season theme, so there wasn’t much need for a change, and it was a smart decision not to go the dark and broody route for this design either.

3Blood Edge Armor

Iron Man

In complete opposition to Adam Warlock’s skin, which upheld the foundation of the character’s design while putting a unique spin on it,Iron Man’s Blood Edge Armor is a complete tonal shift from his original design. If not for the obvious Iron Man features, like flying, it would almost arguably be hard to tell which character this is when wearing this skin. While that could be a drawback for some, it just works in this case.

“Why Is This A Thing?": Marvel Rivals Fan Discovers An Extremely Interesting Feature, But Most Agree It’s Necessary

One player discovers that Marvel Rivals has an annoying limit to avoiding teammates, forcing them to limit their usage of the list for a good reason.

Not only is the design itself awesome, but also, not every player is looking for the classic “good guys” hero feel that is so attached to Iron Man’s iconic look. This design swaps the traditional helmet piece for a knight-like helm and features broody contrasting colors and lost souls throughout the armor.Overall, it’s an incredible design that makesone of the most recognizableMarvelcharactersalmost unrecognizable in the best way possible.

2Bounty Hunter

Rocket Raccoon

Though this is a close match with Iron Man’s Blood Edge Armor, Rocket Raccoon’s Bounty Hunter skin has a slight edge purely for the amount of detail that has gone into this Season 1 Battle Pass skin design. As opposed to some of the other season designs which took the simplicity route, this is insteadone ofMarvel Rivals’most intricate designs, featuring tons of small touches that just complete the overall look.

Marvel Rivals Latest Developer Diary Reveals Massive Changes To Heroes, As Well As A New Rank, New Heroes & More

The latest Marvel Rivals developer diary 03 showcases everything to expect from season one, as well as new heroes, balance changes, and a new rank.

ShowcasingRocket Raccoon as a traditional western-style bounty hunter, this design is unique from his base design, on theme for the season, and just gets better the longer you look at it. There’s no doubt that this isRocket Raccoon’s best designso far and channels everything fans love about this chaotic hero.

1Blood Berserker

Wolverine

To no surprise,Wolverine’s Blood Berserker skin is the best of the best for Season 1’s Battle Pass. It’s not often that a game knows in advance what will be its best-received design by fans, but in this case,Marvel Rivalsknew they struck gold with this design. After being featured in all the promotional art for the season and having its own showcase animation, it’s clear thatWolverine is the star of Season 1.

TheBloodborne-esque design is a clear homage toVan Helsing, the iconic vampire hunter that was widely popularized by Hugh Jackman, who is also most notably known for his portrayal of none other than Wolverine. The design checks all the boxes and if any of the ones on this list are a must-have forMarvel Rivalsplayers, it’s this one, which is by far one of the best designs in the game overall.
