A fan poster for an as-yet nonexistentScarlet Witchmovie makes a convincing case for its inclusion inMCUPhase 6. As it stands, the MCU’s Wanda Maximoff, aka Scarlet Witch, has been killed off following her villainous turn inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessand her self-sacrificial destructionof the Darkhold. Nevertheless, the off-screen demise, the precedent for superhero deaths rarely lasting, and hints intrailers and promo footage forAgatha All Alongthus far suggest that Wanda may return to the MCU shortly.

Should Wanda return in a solo movie, artist@borapostershas imagined how its poster might look. The design depicts a 2D-rendered Scarlet Witch bathed in shades of red with glowing pink eyes on a cosmic backdrop.

It is a unique interpretation of an MCU movie poster with a distinctive art style that has garnered positive responses, with one Instagram user commenting thatScarlet Witch"has to be in Marvel Phase 6." Unfortunately, two years after this poster was shared, a solo Scarlet Witch project is absent from the MCU release slate - but not entirely out of the question.

What A Scarlet Witch Movie Could Mean For The MCU

Scarlet Witch Needs Another Shot At Redemption And Could Embrace Her Comic Book Routes

Her apparent death inDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswas a somewhat disappointing conclusion toWanda’s MCU timeline. After experiencing one of the most tragic arcs of any MCU character, ending her MCU tenure with a Darkhold-spurred descent into outright villainy before meeting her demise feels like a particularly cruel end for such a compelling character. Of all the MCU characters that should get a shot at redemption,Scarlet Witch ranks among the most deserving. A solo movie for Scarlet Witch would be the perfect place to provide this.

Furthermore, bringing one of theAvengers' most powerful membersback into the fold would be a significant boon for the team as they approach a conflict with Doctor Doom. How the MCU plans to handle Doctor Doom remains to be seen, but should he be as powerful a sorcerer as he is in Marvel Comics, Doctor Strange and Wong are going to need all the help they can get to counter his powerful magic.Scarlet Witch would be invaluable in this regard, especially after demonstrating the extent of her powers bydecimating the Illuminati on Earth-838.

TheMCU Phase 6 release slateis looking decidedly bare, and could easily be filled by a solo Scarlet Witch movie. Alternatively, should the MCU shift focus to its mutants in Phases 7 and beyond,it may wish to return Scarlet Witch to her comic book routes and debut a variant who is overtly a mutant, like she and her brother, Quicksilver, are in Marvel Comics. Given the wealth of as-yet unexploredScarlet Witchstories for the MCU to delve into, a solo movie would be a perfect place to explore these.

Scarlet Witch

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the Scarlet Witch debuted, along with her twin brother, Quicksilver in X-Men #4 (March 1964). Also known as Wanda Maximoff, she first appears as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, before she eventually became a member of the Avengers. In the comics, she is a mutant who uses chaos magic to alter reality.Scarlet Witch is played by Elizabeth Olsen in the MCU, having debuted in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
