What This Trailer Means For Duster

Sex & Violence Are Key Elements Of The Series

Between the soundtrack and the general style, theDustertrailer leans heavily into its 1970s setting. Borrowing partially from the crime drama movies of this period, the show seems to feature stylized action. Withshows likeThe Penguin, which applies a classic prestige television gangster format into a supervillain universe, incredibly popular at the moment, this format could serveDusterwell in terms of audience appeal.

Based on this teaser, it is also clear that the show will be ripe with sex and violence. One moment from the trailer shows Holloway’s character in bed with a woman, while another shows him taking explicit photos of a couple in the act. These moments are intercut with sequences of violence enacted by the lead character as he gets into bar fights and chase scenes. If these are the kinds of scenes included in just the trailer,Dusteras a whole is sure to be replete with such elements.

Our Take On The Duster Trailer

Sawyer was one of the most interestingcharacters onLost, and, as a smooth-talking man with a tough personal life, Holloway’sDustercharacter does not seem entirely dissimilar from this role. Whilethe actor was in 10 episodes ofYellowstonein 2020 and 2021, it has been four years since Holloway has been seen on screen, and even longer since he has had a lead role. I think his iconicLostcharacter alone is evidence enough of Holloway’s great acting potential, building my excitement forDuster.
