The latest Illumineer’s Trove fromDisney Lorcanais focused onArchazia’s Island, the newest set from Ravensburger that’s currently in pre-release in hobby stores and will be available at major retailers beginning on March 21. Illumineer’s Troves are a great way to start aLorcanacollection, but even longtime fans should appreciate this one’s contents, which showcase some of the best cards inArchazia’s Island, and includes helpful items like a Lore counter and dice.

Therelease ofArchazia’s Islandsees Disney characters likeBolt, the Mad Hatter, Belle, and Jafar all featured on the Illumineer’s Trove box. These images don’t just highlight some of the best cards (and coolest artwork) in the new set - they also call out some of the new Dual-Ink glimmers that are being introduced in this latestDisney Lorcanaexpansion. The Illumineer’s Trove this time around is once again priced at $49.99, which seems worth the cost considering everything included.

What’s Included In The Archazia’s Island Illumineer’s Trove

Lore Counter, Booster Packs, & More

As usual, the Illumineer’s Trove includes a premium cardboard storage box. It’s a great way to store cards - and the included dividers make organization even easier - but it’s a bit too large for anyone who wants to carry around a deck in their pockets. In other words, it’s better for home storage than taking around to hobby stores for competitions. I personally use these to store cards from every set, and they work great for that.

Here’s everything included in the Illumineer’s Trove forArchazia’s Island:

Everything here feels like premium quality, andthe Lore counter, featuring Bolt, is especially nice if you don’t have one already. The Lore counter is much easier to carry around and use than a collection of tokens. The card dividers feature Pongo from101 Dalmatians, the Evil Queen fromSnow White, Pete, Mushu fromMulan, Baymax in red armor, and Bianca fromThe Rescuers. These are divided by Ink type, just like the dividers in previous sets.

The dice are admittedly something I have plenty of at this point, but for those just starting out, they’re good to have. The booster packs feature Mirabel, the Mad Hatter, and Bolt. Each contains 12 randomized cards andincludes cards of concept art that have story info involving Archazia on the back. If you can collect them all, you’ll get one large image and the full story. Collecting these cards has always been fun, and adding story details to the back is a nice touch.

Dual-Ink Cards, New Glimmers Will Shake Up Lorcana’s Meta

Artistocats, Bolt, & Lady and the Tramp Take Center Stage

Of course, the biggest selling point for theArchazia’s Islandset is the new Dual-Ink glimmers. These allow players a bit more flexibility and specialization with deckbuilding, although they are limited by their Ink combos (Lady’s Amber/Emerald card, for example, must be included in an Amber/Emerald deck). In terms of pulls, I managed to get quite a few Dual-Ink cards in the 8 booster packs. These included cards of the Beagle Boys, Merlin, Mirabel, and a “Maurice’s Machine” Item card that I’m eager to try out.

I didn’t get any Enchanteds this time around, but I did have some good luck with Legendary cards, including the “Mickey Mouse, Inspirational Warrior” I’d been wanting (Mickey variants are always cool).I even managed to get both “Baloo, Ol' Iron Paws” and “The Queen, Jealous Beauty” out of the same booster pack, so I’m more than happy with my overall luck. It’s still all random but the pull rates onArchazia’s Islandseemed to be more favorable overall.

10 Coolest Disney Lorcana: Archazia’s Island Cards Revealed (So Far)

A lot of the new cards from the upcoming Disney Lorcana: Archazia’s Island set have been revealed, and they’re all looking incredible.

Outside of collecting, I’ve incorporated a few of the Ruby/SapphireDual-Ink cards into a deckI’m building. I was impressed with the aggressiveness of the Starter Deck and want to see how viable it is long-term. Beyond the regular chase cards, the artwork inArchazia’s Islandis some ofLorcana’s best, and the new glimmers of mascots like Goofy, Mickey, and Pete stand out the most. A lot of cards focus on characters fromThe Aristocats,Bolt, andLady and the Tramp, meaning it’s a great set for any animal lovers out there.

How Archazia’s Island Illumineer’s Trove Compares To Past Ones

The contents of Illumineer’s Troves have become fairly standard, but what’s included here is solid.I’d still like to see the booklets come back - or have a promo card included. These just feel somewhat empty compared to similar offerings by thePokémon TCGorMagic: The Gathering. Every Illumineer’s Trove feels great - but feels just an item or two shy of being spectacular.

No matter what Disney era you’re most fond of, you’ll find some favorites represented inArchazia’s Island.

Regardless, the Illumineer’s Trove is a nice item for collectors - and it’s a fun way to bulk up yourDisney Lorcanacollection andget items you may be missing that increase the fun - like dice, Lore counters, and card dividers. The artwork on display here is top-notch, and no matter what Disney era you’re most fond of, you’ll find some favorites represented inArchazia’s Island. Beyond that, the box itself is excellent for card storage and organizing.

In terms of sets,Archazia’s Islandhas really grown on me since Ipreviewed the new Starter Decks.Disney Lorcanasucceeds because it’s easy to get into and easy to learn, andArchazia’s Islandcan still make a great entry point for the trading card game. The Dual-Ink glimmers are a fun addition to gameplay, and it’s interesting to see where this will take the meta - and the TCG as a whole - in the future. Thanks to its accessibility and continuing push to grow in engrossing ways,Disney Lorcanaremains one of the best TCGs out there, andArchazia’s Islandhelps solidify that.
