Disney Dreamlight Valley’s new expansion pass,The Storybook Vale, has added new critters that players can befriend, including an Owl. The second expansion pass for the game is released in two installments, with the current release being the first and the second installment due to launch later.The Storybook Valehas introduced many brand-new gameplay content and features,including new Disney characters to unlock and befriend, three glorious new biomes to explore and decorate, and a wide variety of new recipes, ingredients to forage, and fish to collect.

One of thenew features inThe Storybook Valeexpansionis its introduction of brand-new critters that you can befriend and collect. By discovering each of the new critters' favorite treats, you can win over the creatures' trust, and thankfully, these critters are relatively easy - for the most part- to approach. Upon developing a bond with the critters, you can make them a companion where they travel by their character’s side throughout the valley. The new critters include miniature Dragons, winged horses, or Pegasi, and a beloved feathered creature: Owls.

Found In a Particular Biome

Owls are the primary native critter inThe Storybook Vale’s main biome, The Bind. There are four different variations of owls in The Bind you’re able to befriend:a Brown Owl, a Purple Owl, a Dark Owl, and a Light Owl. Each of the different types of Owls appear in The Bind at different times in different biome locations. Brown Owls appear in The Library of Lore at any time during weekdays.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Unlock Hades

The God of the Underworld, Hades, has finally arrived in Disney Dreamlight Valley, but you’ll need to prove yourself a hero before you unlock him.

Purple Owls appear in The Bind every day between midnight and 9 am, Dark Owls appear in The Library of Lore at any time during Saturday and Sunday, and Light Owls appear in The Bindevery day between 3 pm and 8 pm.

What To Feed Owls To Befriend Them

What’s An Owl’s Favourite Treat?

The best way to gain an Owl’s trust inThe Storybook Valeis tofeed them any grain. This can include wheat, available in theDisney Dreamlight Valleybase game and very fast to grow, butan owl’s favorite treat is barley. Barley seeds can be bought from Goofy’s Stall in The Bind for $15 and also used in somerecipes forThe Storybook ValeDLC.

Owls are friendly and easy to approach with food, and each type of Owl takes a different length to befriend.

Brown Owls and Purple Owls are the easiest, with just two days of befriending needed to unlock them as a companion. Dark Owls and Light Owls take slightly longer, with 4 days of befriending required to unlock their companionship.

Feeding Owls in The Bind can also reward some treats in return.These rewards can include Dream Shard, Pine Cones, Decals, and Memory Shards. Because Owls are one of the easiest critters to feed, you can look forward to being able to collect them ascompanions inDisney Dreamlight Valleyrelatively quickly. However, given the 2-4 day period that this takes, a player will make the most of their time inThe Storybook Valeby running about and completing other errands in the game between Owl-feeding activities while they wait for the Owls to trust them.
