Dexter: Resurrection’s first set photo has been shared, confirming that filming on the sequel series is underway. Created by Clyde Phillips, the world ofDexterseemingly came to an end in 2022 with theNew Bloodfinale, which sees Michael C. Hall’s beloved serial killer dying at the hands of his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott). Now, there’s plenty more of the franchise on the horizon, with new episodes of theDexter: Original Sinprequel show continuing to air, andDexter: Resurrectionset to releasein summer 2025.

In a now-deleted Instagram post on August 15, 2025, directorMarcos Siegareveals thatDexter: Resurrectionhas started filming. Dexter: Resurrection has confirmed the returns of a few original characters in the new sequel, fixing a complaint from New Blood’s finale.

ThoughResurrection’s episode count has not yet been revealed,it’s likely that it will follow in the footsteps of bothNew BloodandOriginal Sin, which both feature 10 episodes. The sequel series will seemingly be picking up after theDexter: New Bloodendingand the first moments ofOriginal Sin, which feature Hall’s serial killer dying in the snow before being brought back to life in a nearby hospital.
